Membership Renewal - Affiliate Cards

Hi,
I have just renewed my subs and the Membership card has been returned promptly, thank you, however the BMF expiry date is 31st December 2009 and the MAG 30/04/2010. Is it possible to ask these organisations to expire our affiliations on 31st October each year?
Mind you, I have never used them and do not know what personal benefits the cards bring, so may not be important.
