Repair cracks in tanks

Post by norbert »

During more than 10 years I was fighting with some fine crakcs underneath the tank of Roci. I´ve tried epoxi, uhu plus 300 and even soldering two times. The problem always came up again ...

Until I found this incredible glue. Resistant to gasoline, oil, salted water ..., to be used although under water, resistant from -40 to 90°C, longtime elastic, elongation at break 400% !!! About 15-20€ here in Germany.

Since years no leak at all!

That looks like interesting stuff! Has your tank been resting on the air filter box though? Are the cracks due to some stress raised there? I've been lucky so far and only seen witness marking from cables routed under the tank. I'll certainly look out for the product you mention in the meantime, thanks!

No, the Tank was not touching the air Filter. But the bike now has 172.000 km on the clock, most of them travelling with a big Harro Elefantenboy Tank bag. Perhaps that is the reason for the Cracks. But I know two colragues that have this crack at the same place.
Anyhow I can Highlights recomend this Produkt.
