Hi
Need some guidance on which seals to buy from where. Mdina does not have them and I am suspicious of the ebay specials.
Anyone got a trusted supply?
Thanks
Steve

Re: New York 501 Oil Seals
Which ones? Engine? Forks? Are they not listed in the manual? They should be standard sizes.
Re: New York 501 Oil Seals
Sorry meant to say Fork Oil Seals.
Part number 42 15 12
Thanks

Re: New York 501 Oil Seals
I think you have 38 mm seals? I’d be looking at Ariete fork seals to match the original size.
Re: New York 501 Oil Seals
Thanks. Will look those.

Re: New York 501 Fork Oil Seals
Final(?) task on NY. Been putting this off as fork seal replacement is usually messy.
So fork legs drained and removed.
Original oil seals are marked Marzocchi 38 50 10.5 must be originals.
Ariete ARI 021 is quoted as the same size.
Dust seal off, circlips off, old seals out- not easy but done.
Parts book shows a large washer under the seal; this was on top above the circlip so pretty much useless.
New seals will only go in maybe 80% of the way; still covering the circlip groove and that needed the use of a drift and hammer.
Micrometer shows exactly 50mm inside diameter for the fork leg recess, so it will be tight I guess.
So, hints and tips please.
Anyone done this job on an Excalibur or NY? If so make and model of the seals would be helpful.
Parts book says seals are the same across 350 and 501 for NY, Excalibur and RLX
Heat up the leg?
Can I emery down the outside diameter of the seal?
Don’t much like this
Get next size down. 38 x 48 x 10.5 ARI.094
Don’t much like this either.
Thanks
