Thanks for your replies. I don't know Nigel Price & Ade Crimp but I am on the other side of the water (the right side that is)... It is a 478 engine btw. Anyway, I am expecting some mail from Germany one of these days with a full explanation. Also my "machine-man" offered to make me a ...

the unbearable bearing

After concluding that the left-hand mainbearing will be recycled I probably need to replace/upgrade the right one as well. I have heard of folks kicking out the plain bearing and substituting it for a rollertype. Anyone on this forum perhaps? And will you share how it's done? Apparently after grindi...

Hi Paul, Thanks for your reply. According to my SKF-dealer the one I have will still work as it should, so I want to use this one again. I can't imagine Morini did it for noise restrictions, or else they would have done the same on the 350-engines, or did they do so on later 350 engines as well (New...

main bearing question

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knew why the 500/501 has the 'split' bearing on the lefthand side. I have been told that you can grind 1 mm off the crankshaft and use a standard size one. Will this apart from being good to my bankaccount also be a good idea for the crankshaft or is the split beari...

Hi
I was in Varese last summer and Moro sells new transducers (http://www.moromotoricambi.it/) . All you need to do is send them the number stamped on them.
Good luck 8)

Hi,
I had the same problem on my Camel. I used a puller (if that's the correct English :-/) and it wouldn't come off, later I heated it and with the puller it came off eventually. It had the bearing still in there.
Hope it works :-)

The difference is that the rear piston has a 'cut' in it because it tends to get warmer in the rear. According to the german forum there doesn't seem to be a problem to use them in the front cylinder as well. Thanks for the reply on the Strada/Sportpiston. By now I know you can use pistons intended ...

piston questions

Hi all, Just wondering if anyone can help... I have recently bought a 3 1/2 engine which has two rearpistons fitted. They look alright, but can I use them in this setting? Also is there a difference between pistons for Nikasilbores and the traditional ones? I.e. can I use the Nikasilversions in olde...

Hi

I recently had this problem (I think it was) on my Camel. The clutch plates came out like they were melting! Maybe a mix of wrong cleaningstuff or some oil leaking caused this. On my 3 1/2 I never had this, not here in NL nor in the Alps for 60000 km's.
