Still fiddling - swapped carbs (and slides) from one side to the other no difference in which carb was pulling most vacuum so clearly 'cylinder' or ignition related. Will hold buying new carb bits!! :D Managed to almost balance the carbs, starts easier and runs better but still some vibration. Need ...

No marks (orginally) on mine but degree disc (or tape and careful measuring) allows an 'ANT2' mark with beautiful assitants' nail varnish..... Still further to my on going saga - got timing to about the right place - with pick up as far advanced in its slots as possible - not sure that there isn't s...

Got the puller and a new belt while everything in bits, along with shares in NLM or so it seems at the price of the belt..... Anyway fitted it and now have timing in the right place as far as I can tell and does seem to start easier. Rear cylinder doesn't seem to want to fire on its timing m...

stud mended and now the next problem....

Having looked further at Miss M and got the timing light out from its dusty corner it looks as if the vibration could be something to do with the timing belt being one tooth out :o ....... Been that way for some time as I cannot recall when I last changed/fiddled with the belt. Surprising thing I su...

NLM sell a switch that fits into the hydraulic line up by the master cylinder. Goes in very neatly then just a matter of splicing in a cable to the brake light circuit. Wasn't a silly amount of money as I recall and fitted easily. Get some sort of rubber cover for the connectors to tidy up - local e...

New stud and nut from NLM (expensive at just under £6) and head etc on, twiddle with carbs and Miss M now back and running. Check timing in the morning, try to balance carbs and then worry about smoke (probably rings having looked at valves properly and worse underload than overrun), tank respray a...

Plenty of stud left visible so having failed with the mole grips it was head off, clamp stud in vice, turn head and no problem. :D Stud is 7mm, so quick trip to NLM. Not sure why it would have sheared - my muscles (and spanners!) are not that good!! As there was a bit of smoke on that cylinder at ti...

Broken stud....

No not me.....but one that holds the rocker block in place. Having re-built the Sport it seemed like a good idea to take her for a ride so as Les Skinner & Co had arranged an autumnal jaunt round Leicestershire and Rutland it seemed sensible to do join them. Fortunately Phil (I think) had some s...

Brute force and ignorance help a lot......... Screwdriver as a lever under one end and ping it's somewhere in the garage/field/gravel. :o One end has a very slight chamfer (or at least mine did) which a blade can be forced under - presumably these rings were slightly cheaper than conventional circli...

...........and if you can find the right socket, piece of pipe, old very slightly smaller bearing or similar to use as a drift on the outer ring only so much the better (along with heat/cold etc).

59 as well....

Probably the average age of Morini owners :D - spent the last 15 years trying to get the carbs to balance. :( ......now semi retired :D so should make some time available to do it properly!!

Welcome to the fold..... Lots of help available - also much can be found using the search as well for specific items and the Tech tips bit. Originality - shouldn't worry too much about that as even paint colour varied from day to day (almost) at Morini....but sensible mods (some electrics, switchgea...

Had same problem with my Tarozzi's on siezing up after a short period. :( Once greased they work fine, :D but not sure how often they will need doing as there is no provision for regular lubrication apart from removal.... Tarozzi's are the right idea and in some parts well executed but could have be...
