Re: Tea and Cakes - Benzina, Devizes, UK; 6th July

I shall be passing thru Devizes at some point on the 6th on the National Rally - but on my Deauville rather than Miss M. Will wave if appropriate!

Re: My Strada

Had my seat done by Leightons a couple of years ago - seems identical to original in wording size, no sign of white spots and a lot more comfortable.....quite happy!

Re: Rear brake pictures

If you have the in-line cable switch for the Tarozzi rearsets then the switch needs a very firm press to activate - try standing on the pedal (when stationary!!) and see if it works. Appears to be no adjustment, its just the way they are - unless someone knows better!!

Re: Uncovering your bikes past

On stripping my bike down there was damage to the cases which had been filled with plasteic metal - eventually got them properly welded up when some seals necessitated a full strip down. Not an easy job and need care on alignment for the geartrain in the case. Ultra careful on chain tension now. Loo...

Re: seat recover

Leightons did mine a couple of years ago (bum stop type) - cleaned up and powder coated the base, new foam and fabric with perfect logo and still fine now about 3k miles on. Cost was about £70 I recall (collected, paid cash) and turnround rapid. Not a large place (close to Bham centre) but not reall...

Vibration or voltage....

I know its a V twin but which V is causing my headlamp to blow after about 3-4 hours riding - its the standard Sport shell and light unit. Tried assorted bulbs - halogen 35W lasted least, 40/45W Bosch probably just the longest but not much in it really. Battery is fairly new (18 months) and holds ch...

Re: Steering Damper.....

Thanks for finding those Simon - certainly look the part :D . WIll check dimensions in the morning with the seller. Price is fine as well.

Not convinced either that I need it, but quite like the look of them.......

No-one any opinions on the use of a gas strut?

Steering Damper.....

It leaks - not much, just an annoying little bit. Been leaking for a number of years which makes me wonder why it isn't empty.... Presumably by now it is also less effective than it was. I gather repair seems impossible (correct me otherwise please) and new ones are thin on the ground. Would a gas s...

Re: A couple of newbie questions

May be a good idea to post which part of the country (world?) you are in then maybe a forum member with some knowledge (there are one or two!) could pop round, have a look, and give you some advice and have an excuse to get out on their Morini as well.

Re: Forum problems

Random, but frequent, Fast CGI error for me as well.

Going in directly to the Tre e Mezzo forum seems to give more problems than going from the forum list via the Club home page, but still falls over sometimes.

Re: Sump plug

Firstly stay in bed a bit longer, 6.44am is no time to be posting.... Secondly get a new sump plug (from NLM) or wherever. File/make some new flats/corners on the plug itself, get a socket hammered onto the plug (sacrifce socket if need be), then heat the case around the plug while trying to...

Re: Wiring a new left-hand switch.

On my 78 Sport there is a Yamaha (I am lead to believe) LH switch for lights (on/off and main/dip), horn and indicators. Was on the bike when I got it and works fine and looks right as well. Though perhaps of no immediate help it seems the right place to post where the wires go..... Switch to Harnes...

Re: Rear-set adventures.

Must concur on rear brake cable issues as well as that little nut for the brake tab - got away (just) with not welding mine on. When I wrote the Tarozzi bit in tech tips ( http://www.morini-riders-club.com/thebikes/technical/tarozzi.html ) I didn't have a digital camera to hand so very useful to hav...
