Re: Black engine cases
In the US there are several companies that make super hard, high temperature coatings for gun collectors/builders. These are epoxy, oven cure, or often both, and tend to be very high quality. Ceracoat seems to be the highest end; Duracoat and KG are two others. KG has a page specifically on motor sp...

Re: WTB - rear drum hub
I've got a 180mm hub, backing plate and sprocket carrier that I don't currently need. It's here in Boston, MA. Not sure what it's worth, or how much shipping will be; where are you located?

Speaking to the clutch bolts - WD-40 isn't the best at freeing stuck fasteners. Try Liquid Wrench or, better, make up a mix of 50%acetone and 50%Automatic transmission fluid, or a similar light oil. Works vastly better than anything you can buy.

Re: Oil Presuure
Race cars often have a high pressure switch that works as you're suggesting - it's on at idle and doesn't turn off until you get the engine over a few thousand RPM. There are two advantages to a switch like this - first, it's self testing every time you let the motorcycle idle, and second, you are a...

Re: Rusty Petrol Tanks need a 77 Strada tank help
POR 15 is pretty good stuff for lining good tanks so they don't start to rust, but I've found it will leak/peel if fuel or weather can get to both sides. A better choice, if you can get it, it Caswell tank sealer - it's a 2 part epoxy that is compatible with gasoline/alcohol. It is much thicker than...

(Sigh)
Almost worse than blowing up, crashing, or both, at least from a psychological point of view. My very first roadrace ever was lost to a throttle cable. Better than running out of gas, I suppose.
Congratulations for putting all the effort in, and good luck next time!

Re: timing belts alternate source usa
Mcmaster Carr are stupid enough to not let me browse items without registering on their site. So, no comment on the belt and although it's unlikely I'd ever buy anything from them, they're now on my black list. FWIW, McMaster was fined repeatedly for inadvertently violating export regulations in th...

Re: looking for parts
Thanks, everyone, for the tips. I used to belong to the Morini list but needed to unsubscribe for some technical reason a few years ago; I just rejoined and will post there. As to the headlight, I should have been more clear in that I'm looking for the whole thing, shell and all and it would be nice...

looking for parts
Hi all, I'm looking for a few parts for my Morini project; I thought I'd see if anyone had any of these: - Either a black/white cable tach with chrome bezel, or a green/white speedo with black bezel. I have their complements, and I'd like a pair that matches. Ideally I'd like to work out a swap with...
