Received my leads too, thanks Robert.
They look good and sturdy, just need to make time to fit them now.

Re: Finding the time to fix your bike
Starting reasonably when cold but not hot could also be the stator ignition winding breaking down once it warms up. A common fault with similar ignition systems of that ilk on MX bikes. Try checking the resistance on the stator green wire when both stone cold and just after it conks out. Even bette...

Re: Finding the time to fix your bike
I cleaned the carbs as part of the rebuild so their condition is fairly good, I've tinkered with the setting screws a little but admit to not knowing too much about what I'm actually doing. I recorded all the settings and returned the screws to where they were before being stripped so I had a start ...

Finding the time to fix your bike
Here I am, years later with a still unfinished strada in my garage, fairly common story I think. A while ago I bolted the lot back together and got it to run- after a fashion. It runs on choke but stalls if that is closed and can then be hard to restart after that, I even managed to ride it a few ya...

Petrol tap size
I'm looking to replace one of my petrol taps. Can anyone tell me which of these is the correct size? 16mm x 1.00 - 16mm x 1.5 - 16mm x 1.25 ? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Petrol-Tap-16mm-x-1-00mm-with-right-hand-outlet-on-off-res/151810859296?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26...

Carburettor settings
Can some one give me a base setting for the VHBz25bs carbs for throttle stop and pilot screws. Not sure mine were ever set properly and while I can get it to start it falters after a minute or so and wont run without choke, I'm sure there's lots of other variables but I just need a decent start poin...

Attaching badges
I'me getting to the stage where I can attach the plastic badges to the side panels and tank again, the side panels have pegs that go through the holes in the panel, the tank badges will need to be stuck on somehow. How best to secure these?, bending slightly or partially melting the sidepanel pegs s...

Re: Exhaust nuts where to get them
I know you can get stainless steel ones but they're not recommended as the steel reacts with the alloy engine.
I picked up a plated bronze set from a maker in Italy, from here.

Re: 350 strada bars wanted
I eventually settled for a set of BSA bars that looked similar, I can't tell what they're like compared to an original set as mine were fitted with something from a bigger bike when I got it but the new ones don't look out of place and don't have visible knurling that obviously indicated that it was...

Re: Painted engines
There's nowhere near me that can do any of the blasting processes other than the roughest shotblast work, the engine has sat untouched for ages because I've been unable to find a neat solution for this hence the query about painting it.

Re: Painted engines
It worked fine when I took it out of the bike and I dont want to disassemble it when I dont have the tools or experience to rebuild it.

Painted engines
I have a replacement cylinder on my engine, this is painted black and obviously stands out from the rest of the natural coloured motor. When (what years) did they start painting engines? I had given some thought to removing the black but this will seem a bit too much work to get into all the fins so...
