I recently overhauled the front brake of my Sport. The seal does fit with the wider end towards the spring - that way it flares open as you apply pressure. Be careful about the free play on the lever: because the piece between the lever & piston is not captive it can jam, or pop out, in extreme ...

for a flywheel holder I use a strap wrench bought for £9.99 from a DIY store. Talk to NLM for other tools; the MRC has given up its tool hire scheme because NLM's prices are not bad. Occasionally tools turn up on Ebay but the price is no cheaper than NLM's. There are US websites that sell adjustabl...

So that's why we haven't seen you recently - too ashamed to show your face!

What you need to do is take lots of photos & make notes then you can write up a piece for ATG and add to the club's workshop manual...

Received wisdom is that 3 1/2s like skinny tyres (they're not that powerful - less than 30 bhp at the rear wheel); remember fatter tyres mean you need to lean more ("Bike", sometime last year). I've fitted 90/90H18 front and 100/90H18 rear Avon Roadrunners (now replaced by Roadriders) whic...

I bought a pair from NLM earlier this year and fitted them just before trackday. They are full length so don't need any spacer (standard springs use a 4"-5" spacer). They work very well.

I sorted major problems by fitting the latest floats. They are very different from the original floats and give a much better mixture and starting. I have also just fitted 45 pilot jets which seem to give much better running. I have used a Colourtune to set up the mixture with good results, my Sport...

Surely, the point about track day is that it is you against the track without buses, white vans or Volvos trying to screw you. If it rains it is the chance to find out how to ride quickly in the wet without worrying about idiots on four wheels. Track days are learning experiences not races - improve...

Should have mentioned my Kanguro which has a Kph speedo but a 18" front wheel instead of 21" (factor is 19/10 instead of 16/10) and still no problem. Tell them to get lost.

I have had a kph speedo on my Sport since I bought it 11 years ago and never failed an MOT: they are legal.
Find a different MOT station - if they don't know about speedos what else don't they know?

Very nice! I could have saved myself a lot of work. I used the fork brace to mount a 2mm aluminium plate to which an aftermarket plastic motocross mudguard is rivetted. At the rear a bracket bolted to the swinging arm just below the shock mount and single side brace to the brake caliper holds a wide...

Sorry you've had no interest. Do you have any pictures? I would but I'm building almost exactly the same style as you have: X3, 18" wheels, ss pipes, and my own secret development - hugger mudguards front & back. I think it'll make a great tourer with a relaxed riding position and good tank...

Morini Wiring Diagram

Be warned! The fusebox in the wiring diagram is upside down compared to the actual bike! This makes the diagram simpler, with fewer crossing wires, but confusing when trying to troubleshoot. Also there are two leads which go nowhere - one from the regulator which looks like it's an earth connection ...

Robin,

was it you who fitted a Trailtech Vapor unit? I plan to fit one to my Sport to get more accurate numbers and give more space to fit clip-ons comfortably. Any advice? How did you wire the tacho?
