Re: What happened to Belstaff ?
Look up Merlin Bike Gear - a British company that we saw in Milan; looked like good stuff at reasonable prices. Good riding, CC Hello, I bought one of the Merlin short jackets at the end of last year and am pleased with the quality and detailing. They use the same 8oz waxed cotton cloth made in Sco...

Re: Morini Events at the 2015 Classic TT
Looking forward to meeting up with you all at (or near) the Highlander. I have vivid memories of taking shelter there during the awful downpours of TT week 1998 when it was still a pub. We had extended lunchtimes there, spinning out time until it looked like the monsoon had lifted. Hopefully we'll g...

Re: The Club Bike Relay Tour
Nice pic, and a nice looking bike too! Will hopefully get a chance to ride her on part of the Scottish leg of the journey later in the year. Maybe even at the IOM?
Cheers,
Iain

Re: Classic TT 2015 - Celebrating our 40th Birthday!
A few friends and I have just booked our ferry for the Classic TT, but it seems places on the best sailings are filling up fast. If you can get across there you'll be sure to enjoy it, as over the years the local section of the VMCC have made great efforts to turn what was the Manx GP into a real ev...

Re: Best motorcycle cover for a Morini 3½?
Hi JP,
your 3 1/2 isn't exactly a Goldwing, so given that todays bikes are all a bit larger dimension wise, I'd be thinking small to medium. J & S Accessories have recently baled out the UK Hein Gericke chain, so there may be bargains to be had on H-G badged own brand covers..?

Re: 1980's Morini dealers in Glasgow area..?
That's really interesting to hear, as I found an old magazine where Clyde Motorcycle Centre was listed as Morini dealer for the area. And from the PM you sent me, we are talking about the same bike. It's travelled around the north of the country, crossing the border in the process, but is now back o...

Old style bum-stop seat and luggage rack wanted
Hi, I'm thinking of changing the seat on my 1982 350K Sport, and am looking for an earlier bum-stop type seat, and /or a small luggage rack if anyone has such an item in the shed. Cheers, Iain.

Re: End of Tether
Just caught this post tonight, and have to say thanks to tankstraddler for the original post, and to the comments and advice posted thereafter as it all rings a bell with me. On a couple of random occasions my 1982 Sport has stopped dead with that 'running out of fuel' feeling and then refuses to st...

Sounds good! I know I'll be working on the Friday evening so won't make it then, but will see if I can bring the 3 and a half down for the run / dinner on the Saturday. Will spread the word too..

Re: Italian Car & Bike Day 2012 South Queensferry
Cheers Monstyr, I remember us having a chat on the day, sorry I forgot to mention that there was at least one other Morini supporter there! We should arrange a wee get together sometime - how about 'cafe racers at Nardinis' one Saturday / Sunday. I remember attending a Guzzi club meet there along th...

Italian Car & Bike Day 2012 South Queensferry
Just a wee note to say that two Morinis attended this event, which saw a wide range of latin two and four-wheeled machines assemble in the grounds of Hopetoun House, at South Queensferry near the Forth Bridges. This was the first time I've met a fellow Morinisti whilst out and about, and had I been ...

Re: How Standard is Yours?
Cheers George for putting the link to the pics: they're all really good, worthwhile improvements. Rearsets are on my list of must-do mods, as well as sorting out my exhaust headers (and pipes). My bike is a 1982 'K' model so now has discoloured black exhaust headers matched to stainless steel silenc...

Re: Trackday Entry....
Hi chaps,
Anyone going down from central Scotland? Initial thoughts were of hiring a van and sharing the costs, but the sun will of course be shining brightly that week, won't it?
If anyone is interested in riding down together or the van option let me know what you think.
Thanks,

Looks like you're enjoying yourself there! Re: 1980's Morini dealers in Glasgow area..?
Hi chaps, great to get so many replies! Seems there are a good few Morinis tucked away in the west of Scotland, maybe if we had more of a proper summer we'd see more of them. Perhaps this year! Maybe we should arrange a day in the summer, what do you think? Thanks for the information of Better Bikes...
