Pair of 350/400 cylinder heads NOS

Complete starter assembly.
Just removed from an Excalibur 501 engine (Ducati ignition). I think this is the cleanest looking starter I've ever seen and there's little wear on the shoes. The outer casing is quite shabby and probably indicates that the bike (and therefore starter) has had little use. £250 collected from Luton, ...
Re: Tyres
Is everyone sticking with 110/80 or have others fitted 120/80?? Cheers. People don't usually fit a 110/80, it should be a 110/90. The rims are already narrow for that size, going wider is going to be better. It's often instructive to look up manufacturers recommended rim widths. Most will respond t...

Re: 125 WITH NO SPARK
Older 2 strokes usually had fixed ignition timing. My Settebello racer didn't come on cam till over 6000rpm, so that also made do with tming fixed at full advance. I'll say again, the CDI boxes fire when a fixed voltage is exceeded on their trigger input, the advance comes from the shape of the pick...

Re: 125 WITH NO SPARK
They were all 6V (unless modified), as were the 250 singles and twins.

Re: 125 WITH NO SPARK
ALL of the CDI modules simply fire when the voltage on the trigger input rises above a certain level.
The advance comes from the shape of the voltage produced by the pickup and the fact the voltage produced by the pickup increases with rpm.

Re: Twin Disc Master Cylinder
...but not for the master cylinders. Norbert says 16mm for single disc, I am saying 16mm for single disc, you have quite clearly stated 14mm for a single caliper. Am I missing summat? You might want to read what Norbert and I wrote agian. 14mm is standard for the 250 twin, which uses the same wheel...

Re: Twin Disc Master Cylinder
Norbert and I are effectively saying the same thing.
The early bikes use the non-handed Grimeca 1010 caliper, later bikes the 1025. Both use the same 41mm piston and use the same seals.

Re: Twin Disc Master Cylinder
16mm cylinder for twin calipers.
14mm for a single.
If travel is an issue with either of these combinations, then you have a problem elsewhere.
Still quite a heavy lever by modern standards, many will prefer a 12, or 12.7mm (0.5") for a single and perhaps the 14mm for twin.

Re: 501 camel carb jets
The weight of the float will determine how deep it sits in the fuel. The position of the tab that operates the needle valve will determine the float height at which the fuel is shut off. You will get the same fuel height in the float bowl for a relatively wide combination of float weight and tab pos...

Re: how much difference between kanguro and strada engine?
Gillardoni barrels have larger liner spigots and the matching crankcases have correspondingly larger barrel mouths to suit.
Barrel heights and pushrod lengths are slightly different too.

Re: New wire harness
I make my own harnesses as needed, but if I were to use one of those, I'd replace the Brass spade connectors with Tin plated versions.

It's an eccentric stop to help set the chain tension.

Re: Corsarino ZT
The two screws are the slide stop and idle mixture. Off the top of my head, I can't remember if the idle screw is an air or fuel adjustment (turn opposite ways to achive the same mixture change). If the idle stop isn't affecting the idle speed, they you may have the slide hanging on the throttle cab...
