I just spotted this 350 restoration project on eBay as I'm keeping an eye out for an Italian resto project for an old friend.
Bike location is Coalville. The guy answering the questions is called Stuart. Hmmm....
Anyway, just thought I'd draw attention to it in case anyone is interested.

That is rather a fine looking machine.

Re: Greasing swing arm bushes when rearsets are fitted
Thanks guys, this nylon/PTFE option is sounding quite interesting, but then so are the alternative placements for the grease nipple (and there is something satisfying about locking on a grease gun). Decisions, eh? EVguru, you are right, the bushes are surprisingly generous in size for a smallish bik...

Re: Newish member with a 3 1/2 Sport
Take a look at the idle jets. They may need to be leaned out for modern fuel (I'm running 43s). A hole in the mid range can be due to weak ignition, but can again be mixture. A change of atomiser is often the cure. Thanks, sounds like I need to assemble a collection of Dellorto bits and bobs before...

Re: Newish member with a 3 1/2 Sport
As to reluctance to idle when hot, in my experience that can also be a sign of the stator ignition coil windings starting to break down, but if it starts OK perhaps all is well. The balancing act is well worth the time and effort. Yes, I was wondering about that. I guess if I can't tune out the pro...

Re: Newish member with a 3 1/2 Sport
Richard - we must have been separated at birth. D/D 350 Sport and a Saturno - motorcycle doppelgangers! Blimey, Broadbandylegs, I see we even joined these boards around the same time! I don't know if you are on The Gen, but there's been a mention of an article in this month's 'Practical Sportsbikes...

Re: Greasing swing arm bushes when rearsets are fitted
I've done exactly what you said next, fitted nipples elsewhere. Drilled through the swinging arm and bush, threaded it and fitted nipples. A right angle nipple on one side and an angled one on the other. The right hand one is accesssed under the flywheel cover and the other can be seen at the front...

Newish member with a 3 1/2 Sport
I'm going to be rolling up my sleeves and getting stuck into my 3 1/2 Sport this year, so, although I joined nearly a year ago, I thought I'd introduce myself and my bike a bit because I'm sure I'm going to be trying members' patience quite a lot this year. I bought a '75 double drum from NLM this t...

Greasing swing arm bushes when rearsets are fitted
The Tarozzi rearset installation on my 3 1/2 Sport (I'm pretty sure mine are Tarozzis) uses the rear swing arm grease nipple drilling as a mounting hole (I think this is what's going on, anyway, but I haven't started disassembly because I need to order a head nut spanner because the rear downpipe ob...

I hadn't thought of that way of thinking about it before... I can make sense of that.EVguru wrote:It's a fuel on light.dvhttn wrote:As Steve said, red light is always on ...![]()
Thought it was stupid idea, though I'm sure there was a good reason for it back in the Morini design offices in the early 70s.

Re: Should I return what I thought was a Strada back to a Sp
I've never met a Morini purist, certainly not on this forum....do they exist? Our bikes were all built with purity of design and intention, not purity of parts-book. That's what UJM's are for, not Moto Morinis! :D Cheers, Dom Yes, yes, I'm a purist... but, how can I say, in a jokey sort of way... w...

Re: 1974 3 1/2 Sport for sale
DB cycles were advertising this bike back in April 2011. I downloaded the pics then for my Morini archive, but didn't follow the sale to its conclusion. Wonder why it didn't sell then? Looks like a good unrestored example.

Ouch! I read that as exhaust valve collets, and was wondering how you limped home. Then I read your post properly. Think I'll check mine.

Re: 16 Years in the wilderness - now back on the road
Its also quite useful at saving fuel as you attempt to a hand signal a right turn at an uphill junction. ... especially when you have a not wholly diagnosed occasional tendency to cut out when the revs drop to tickover (grrr! got to fix that). Still, I'm not unsympathetic to the 'classic feel' argu...

Re: Sport top yoke badge on ebay
Brett, thanks. Great minds and all that... I was also thinking that the Italian flag yoke badge would be a subtle personalised touch on my otherwise standard 3 1/2.Brett wrote: I purchased the tank and side cover badges off him and the yoke badge in the Italian colours.
