Re: Poorly Veloce
Ebi, Thank you very much for the very helpful and interesting information. Sorry to hear you had the same problem. It seems you were quite lucky though. I'm really hoping I've got away with it too. Torque is this the chain you went for? http://shop-hsi-custombikes.de/product_info.php?products_id=105...

Re: Poorly Veloce
Thanks chaps for all the help. It's very reassuring to have all that knowledge, experience and goodwill out there. Thanks Torque for the flywheel puller info. I nearly choked when I saw what MM want to charge for special tools. I've made a flywheel 'anti rotation tool' and was gearing up to make a p...

Re: Poorly Veloce
Cheers Gary. I will no doubt need to pick your brains sometime soon. Unless you want to help me get the motor out.... Steve, hopefully the removal of the flywheel will reveal only minimal damage. We'll see. It might give some clue to the reason for the breakage. When the bike's back on the ro...

Hose clip removal
I've been meaning to change the coolant hose clips on the Corsaro for a while and I'm going to do it this week.
Can anyone offer me any tips advice for the effective removal of the old clips? Don't want to muller the hoses trying to get the clips off.
Thanks all
Jim

Re: Poorly Veloce
Thanks Gary, I may well take you up on that sometime soon. Got the head off this afternoon and found that the valves, piston crown and cylinder bore appear to be unmarked. Fortune saw to it that the valves were closed when the chain went. FullSizeRender.jpg IMG_2179.JPG IMG_2180.JPG I knew it was ru...

Veloce head work
Following my recent timing calamity, the heads are going to have to come off the Veloce. I was thinking about getting them improved. Nothing drastic. Maybe some mild port work and a general refresh. Possibly slightly larger valves... I was considering using CJS in Bristol but he's stacked out with d...

Re: Marzocchi front bushes
eddydog, just checking it's not a Veloce???
Reason I ask is I have the old bushes from mine when I did the forks. I'll measure them tomorrow.
Anyone know if the Corsaro and Veloce forks share the same bushes?

Re: Poorly Veloce
Hi Gary, Didn't get time to remove the head at the weekend (too busy chuntering about missing the rideout). Going to have a crack tomorrow. I'll need to fetch the flywheel off too and see what's happened down that end. I'm expecting much mechanical interference with the starter mechanism as that wou...

Gutted I missed it. Having made it in 2014 but missed last year, was really looking forward to it. Leicester racecourse is less than 2 miles from my house, I'd organised getting the weekend off work, weather fantastic....

Re: Poorly Veloce
Broken rear cam chain. Tensioner seems to be fine. Clearance check not due for another 4000 miles. Cams don't appear to have any abnormal wear, the part I can see anyway. Looking down the intake with the throttle bodies off, both intake valves are still present, look in good shape and are closed. Th...

Poorly Veloce
M40, lane 3, 90ish in top, dropped to one cylinder. Pulled onto shoulder, clutch in, motor stops. Checked all fuses, relays, connections. Fuel pump primes. Turned over but wouldn't fire. It didn't even try. Tried again with Mr RACs jump leads but would no longer turn over, battery volts dropped to a...

Gary, I'm in Leicester. Work funny hours mind so sometimes difficult to make plans. Might head down to Stockbridge Saturday week though. Depends on the weather. And the wife!

Mine sometimes needs a good push down at the back of the seat above the locking mechanism before turning the key.

Managed to find ATG 341 with the fluid change write up! Just need to get it photocopied now to avoid grubby mit contamination.
