Apologies for not responding earlier. You can access the plug via the airbox without too much drama. The plug is located at the bottom of the rear brake side of the air box. Lift the tank, remove the airbox top, gently pull the plug clear of the airbox. If the plug is the problem it will be damaged....

In relation to oils, I am looking for info on suitable engine oil/s for the Veloce keeping in mind the summer temps here get to 40c (104F).
