Re: LSR Morini gets Fairing
Yeah, it looks good. They make great stuff. I've wanted to buy several things for years now, but haven't got to those projects yet. What I really want first is the full Triumph Thruxton fairing they make (perfect replica). I have a '64 Triumph Bonnie I want to make into a street Thruxton. Someday......

Re: LSR Morini gets Fairing
Nice! Where did you get the fairing? Glass from the past?

Re: Vibrations!
Mine is MUCH smoother at high revs. In fact, I've hit 85mph on the little beast and it doesn't vibrate at all. Something is up.

Re: Electric Fuel Tap
If you're getting a 'clunk' from the solenoid, that tends to indicate that the coil is OK and the core is moving. Often they're silted up and the diaphram goes hard, if it hasn't actually disintigrated or badly swolen in modern fuel. Most of us still running an electric fuel tap will open the reser...

Re: Starter woes.
Update: Since I share my woes here, I thought I would also share my minor victory. I had my shoes re-lined locally for about $75. They did nice work, but I need to do some grinding to get them to fit the bell housing. My shoes are apparently the earlier type (one solid piece and fairly light). Altho...

Re: Starter woes.
Well, I contacted NLM and there are no new starter clutches available. Guess the supplier did not make any this year. Anyone have a set they would part with that they never installed? Just thought it was worth a shot to ask.

Re: Starter woes.
Since the weather is getting cold - yes, even in Memphis, TN we have winter - I've been thinking about working on this crazy Morini starter again. I guess the good news is that I rode the bike all Summer and Fall with no major issues. I love this bike! I tell everyone I love this bike. If I weren't ...

Re: Oil leak on top of cases.
Are you sure the engine breather is not leaking? My Kanguro is rust proofed beyond doubt here so that is the first thing to check for me...... I don't like pressure washers so need to find a way of cleaning it all up.... I really WANT this to be the problem - but it doesn't look like it. Easy fix i...

Re: Oil leak on top of cases.
Hi, not sure if this may help, but many years ago i rebuilt my 350 and suffered the same problem, a small oil leak that appeared to be coming from where the crankcases join just behind the rear cylinder. I took the barrels off and tried new gaskets, no better, then gaskets and goo but still the lea...

Oil leak on top of cases.
Went for a good burn up this past weekend out in the forest. When I stopped at lunch, I noticed some oil burning on my right hand exhaust pipe, just under the clutch housing. Following the trail, I found that it was coming from the crankcase joint just where the ground wire is attached. I also notic...

Re: Battery 350 sport 1980
I've been running an Odessey for the past few months on my 1980 Sport (replica). I even made an effort - several, actually - to repair the starter. The Odessey can handle the cranking required, but the starter is still not really useful when the bike is cold. That being said, I can almost wear the s...

Re: ...thought 4 the underdog
Never had so much trouble explaining what kind of bike I have before to people. Haha - you're still patient, then. Considering Morini was left to founder so Ducati could live, I sometimes have to take a little deep breath when asked "what kind of Ducati that is" particularly when t...

Re: ...thought 4 the underdog
I spent a considerable amount of time and money turning my "nice" Strada into a cafe racing piece of sexy Italian girlfriend (i.e. a Sport replica). Guess I'm too old to stop being a cafe racer! Thanks for publishing an article about Morini's, though. Never had so much trouble explaining w...

Re: Starter woes.
I take it from those two replies that we have moved on from a "mechanical" issue to an "electrical" issue, eh? I have a local starter rewind shop that people say is pretty good. I could have them redo the coil and put in new brushes. After that, I'm a bit stumped. This is already...
