Re: Curious Electrics
Apologies for the multiple posts...I tried to delete the extra posts, but I must be having issues with the server. Could the forum moderator help me delete the extra versions? Thanks. Peter Had to delete duplicate posts using SQL code in the database back-end (oo-err). First time I have tried it, bu...

Curious Electrics
I finally finished installing a set of Tarozzi rearsets on my '79 Sport. The conversion from the US left shift/right brake set-up to the opposite, to accomodate the rearsets, was a bit more challenging than I expected, especially in terms of fitting the exhaust pipe back on the bike. I think the cro...

Re: Left hand gear change conversion
Will post updates (and photos, if I can recall how to do so) as soon as I get going on the conversion...this week, I hope. Though it appears you found the answer to your question already...

Re: Left hand gear change conversion
Interesting--thanks for posting the photos. As it happens, I just picked up a set of rearset pegs for my 350 Sport, which has the Rube Goldberg-ish left shift conversion on it (US). In the coming week I will be disassembling the shift-conversion apparatus to re-install the proper right-hand shift on...

Re: Rear-set adventures.
Excellent post. Your pictures are helpful for showing how you overcame some of the challenges posed by converting the left-side shift to a right-side shift, along with the conversion to rearsets. I will be doing a similar install on my '79 sport once the weather warms back up here in Illinois...hope...

Re: Idling issues
Duncan I can report the same phenomenon on mine. The front cylinder's carb is far more sensitive to minor adjustment of the mixture and idle speed screws than the rear cylinder. The same is true for their reaction to using the front cylinder's carb choke lever--it produces a far greater surge in rpm...

Re: Idling issues
Thanks for the interesting replies. Last night I spent some more time in the garage working with the idle to see whether unscrewing the 'mixture' screws (versus turning them in) actually improved the bike's ability to idle steadily (and reduce the popping on decel). The first thing I noticed was tha...

Idling issues
My 1979 3-1/2 Sport starts easily enough with the kickstart lever (unfortunately never with the electric starter), and use the choke lever on one carb to warm it up. It's usually then, when it warms up, that the idling takes on a life of its own...revving higher, then dropping lower, where it usuall...

Converting left shift to right for Tarozzi rearsets
Greetings to all...first post here. I recently picked up a '79 Morini 3.5 sport, with the left-side shifter retrofit on it for the North American market. Picked up Tarozzi rearsets to install on the bike, and realized that they're obviously made for the Euro set-up. So, first order of business for m...
