Planning a 12v conversion
Hi All, Well its that time of year again when I put the Ducati to bed for the winter and break out the (t)rusty 'ro. This year the problems to be addressed before MOT time (in just over a month) are: The headlights don't work...despite the bulbs being OK. Rear brake is almost non existent...combinat...

Re: Kanguro Brake Problems
Hi Derek, I have a Kanguro X too that I've owned for several years. Both the original drums were badly scored, I have no Idea what make of shoes were fitted. I suspect that the steel (or Iron?) lining in the brake drums may be of poor quality. I replaced the front wheel and shoes several years ago. ...

Re: Compression test data required
Hi Robin, I need to check the valve clearances for sure, but I'm not too keen on stripping the top end down unless I'm absolutely certain the rings are worn. On the way home tonight it seened to be pulling really well. On the stretch of dual carriageway buzzing allong between 130-150kph so in realit...

Compression test data required
Hi all, Does anyone have the definative answer to what a 'good' compression test reading should be for the Morini Kanguro. I know it can be worked out from the bore, stroke and compression ratio but I don't know how. I'm getting quite a lot of fumes from the engine breather which makes me wonder if ...

Re: Kanguro X, what battery?
Thanks for the links Robin.
I managed to get the electrics working with the help of the wiring diagram (my italian must be improving) and replaced a mumber of dodgy connectors which has resulted in the 6V system now working better that it ever has before in my 8 years of ownership.
Next stop MOT!

Re: Kanguro X, what battery?
Robin, The silencer sounds great, not too loud even without an end baffle. I spent most of the weekend preparing the bike for the road, had back wheel out and cleaned out the rear drum which is quite scored, unfortunately. It seems that bits of the steel from the drum have become embedded in the sho...

Re: Kanguro X, what battery?
Robin and Mikey, Thanks for the advice (and parts!), I decided to go with the standard electrics for now. Today I replaced the battery, swapped the petrol tap from my old tank to the new one, put tank, seat and silencer on, added some pertrol, kicked it over a couple of times with the ignition off. ...

Re: Kanguro X, what battery?
Robin, did you convert your special to 12v battery? Do you know if it requires a different reg rec to convert?
I'm thinking there must be some pretty small dry 12v rechargable batteries available these days maybe I'll find something small enough to fit the Kanguro battery box.

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has a serviceable X or X1 silencer they don't want?

Kanguro X, what battery?
Hi early Kanguro owners, I was silly enough to throw away the dead battery from my Kanguro when I took it off the road, now I'm not sure which 6v battery it takes. This is critical because the size of the battery box moulding in the inner sidepanel is just big enough for the battery so the next size...

Wanted - Kanguro X or X1 tank.
My Kanguro x which has been languishing in the shed for about 3 years has a fiberglass tank. Because it was on the sidestand the small amont of petrol in it was all in one side of the tank, causing the other side to dry out and split beyond repair. If anyone has a useable x or x1 tank they'd sell I ...

Re: Welcome new forum members - introduce yourself
Hello all, I'm Stu, and like many on here I've been biking longer than I care to remember (1979, damn, I just remembered!) I have owned my c1982 Italian import Kanguro X for about 8 years. It has a couple of non standard features, a handlebar fairing with vertically stacked twin rectangular headligh...
