Frame paint colours?
Hello, All. If you look at pictures of the 500 on the internet (beats porn) you will have noticed that black bikes (generally) have a black-painted frame, and red ones sometimes have a red frame, and sometimes a black one. Was there a change of practice at the factory (ie. they ran out of red paint ...

Fuel tank problems
Hello, All. Has anyone got any experience of this problem: the lining of my fuel tank has erupted into a, hard, brittle, flaking shell-like substance. It is mid-brown in colour and shiny and quite resistant to picking it off with my fingers (not that I can poke them far though the filler hole). I ha...

Re: Ignition - Aargh!
Full marks to EVguru! After exhausting all ideas on the electrical front, I removed, disassembled and cleaned the carburettors. There was not really much muck or anything in there, but I'm pleased to say that the bike now rides beautifully again. Not sure what it was in the end, but it certainly see...

Re: Ignition - Aargh!
Thanks for your replies, chaps. Your wisdom is appreciated. I'm tackling this by doing some more investigative work at the moment. My money is on an electrical component breaking down under load - the favourites would appear to be either the stator or the condenser part of the transducer. I'll post ...

Ignition - Aargh!
Can anybody help please - I have run out of ideas? My 500 has a misfire under load which has progressed to the stage where it will start and idle beautifully, but as soon as I try to move off from standstill, the engine staggers and cuts out. I have gone through the diagnostics prescribed in the blu...

Re: Fuel taps??
Thanks, all, for the help on this. Unfortunately your task is not yet done ... When I heard about the bike having an "electric" tap, I assumed it was in addition to the two hand-operated oned protruding from the bottom of the tank. However, your posts suggest that one of those two is in fa...

Fuel taps??
Hello, All. I'm fascinated reading these different threads and posts. I am new to Morini ownership (like 2 weeks!) so just feeling my way. My bike is a 1982 500 Strada. I interested by the references in the forum to the fuels taps, both reserve and electrical. I have not yet figured out why there ar...
