Hi Steve. Is this still available? If so grateful for a pic or two and whereabouts you are in the country. Best, Michael

Re: Kanguro or Camel rolling chassis wanted
Hi - if you're still looking I have a round-tube Kanguro frame in vgc complete with yokes and a set of Camel MkII mudguards and nose piece. Alternatively I have a complete 1984 Kanguro in very good condition too with a 1978 Strada engine in it. I might sell as a rolling chassis without the engine. I...

Re: building a racer
This post caught my eye and of course it seems that John Carter was sometimes the only rider in the class. On the other hand, compare his actual times with other machinery - e.g. very impressive here http://www.marktime.co.nz/rfiles/110417/BEST.PDF

Re: Morini turbo 1982
I think I might have been the next owner, Benjy sold me a Sport around that time as an ex-turbo, though I think it had been converted back completely to stock spec. I'll see if I have any pictures in the attic ...

Hi - if you're still looking I think I've got a fairing: one of the little ones that mount on the forks with 'rubber bands'?

Re: Seat height
Mine is an X - so round tube. As I said, my personal feeling is that the seat to footpeg distance is in practice less than on a Strada. And what measurements won't tell you is just how much the seat squashes down. I should also have said that I weigh less than 11 stone so it's not as if a great weig...

Re: Seat height
Although the Kanguro is taller, the seats are deep-sided and squashy! My personal feeling is that my knees are definitely higher when riding along on the Kanguro than a Strada (I put my Strada engine in a Kanguro X rolling chassis after a fire). I'm just under 5'11" and take a standard 32"...

Re: Zero Valve Clearance
I've just measured a set from a 1984 Kanguro X and the pairs are 183mm and 184mm - catering for different camshaft?

Re: Buying in Italy
Most of the information and necessary links are here http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/BuyingAndSellingAVehicle/ImportingAndExportingAVehicle/DG_4022583 Worth noting that if the bike is over ten years old it doesn't appear to need the special 'vehicle approval' - just be able to pass an MoT. But ...

Re: Quick Clutch Question
My old Harglo service manual says during disassembly "...knock back the overturned locking washer .." before undoing the clutch centre nut and then "Always use new lockwasher on re-assembly and recheck sealed nut". The engine strip link from the NLM site also says "first kno...

Re: Kanguro X, what battery?
As the Strada engine has the red pickup I used the black Strada transducers. The Kanguro had the black pickup and grey transducers, and they can't be mixed and matched. The Strada revcounter worked, but its glass was too smoke damaged and it's needle bent by the heat to be much use, so I'm doing wit...

Re: Kanguro X, what battery?
The answer to your first question is yes. I obtained the bike with a blown engine (main bearing) and simply put in the engine from my fire-damaged Strada. So the PowerBox will accept 12v from the stator as well as 6v. I haven't tried disconnecting the battery but I guess that at low revs the lights ...

Re: Kanguro X, what battery?
Here's pictures of the PowerBox installed with a 'massive' 3Ah 12v battery. No need for complicated stator rewinds, just put bullet connectors on the end of the stator leads, connect up, and junk the rectifier. A snug fit, but a fit all the same.
