Getting the best form your carbs
Following a great day at Cadwell in September I went away with the intention of upgrading my suspension and getting my carbs cleaned and balanced. The suspension was easily sorted courtesy of NLM who flogged me a pair of Hagon rear shocks and a pair of progressive springs for the forks. Raising the ...

Thanks Robin. My 3 1/2 had been sat in a damp shed for several years, only doing a handful of miles a year. Damp is always a worry for external surfaces never mind internal ones so I guess that it really pays to use your Morini regularly. Mine also had the indignity of half a tank of petrol in the s...

Power loss, clattering and seizure - EXPENSIVE OUTCOME!
Okay. Following much anguish, NLM have put me out of my misery by providing a report on the engine within 24 hours of it being deposited in their workshop. They'd never seen a crank and big-end so chewed up. apparently, it's worthy of putting on a plaque! One big end was oval and the crank journal w...

Update on engine seizure. Looks like the crankshaft.
Well. it's been a few weeks and the dust is settling. I was able to spend a couple of hours on the bike last night in prep for getting the engine out and down to NLM for a stripdown and report next week. On draining the oil, there was that heart stopping sound of gravel in a plastic bucket that turn...

hot running and seizure
Hi. No outcome as yet. I have just returned from a week's holiday and will be collecting the bike in prep for stripdown tomorrow. I intend sending it to NLM for diagnosis. Once I know the score, I'll post key points from the report.

Lubrication failure? Could be...
Hi Robin. Many thanks for your thoughts. A failure of the lubrication system would explain why the bikes performance went from hero to zero in about half a mile. Alternatively, the ignition timing may have slipped (i.e. retarded), but I know for a fact that the stator was secure so overheating due t...

Power loss, clattering noise and running hot = seizure
Reporting disaster. After approx 20 miles on a run yesterday, my A3 series Sport started to lose power and started making one hell of a racket. I stopped to notice that the engine was also running very hot. Being forced to carry on as I was in the middle of nowhere, after letting it cool for 10 - 15...

Tight seals in front caliper
Many thanks. I'll give it a go. The Caliper was dismantled into 2 halves so I could remove the pistons and lubricate the new seals with a smear of brake fluid. I guess I was foolish in rushing the job in the first place and now everything has locked solid! Serves me right for trying to fix something...

Grimeca front caliper
Can any one offer advice on reconditioning a 1979 Grimeca front caliper? I have renewed the seals etc and the pistons pushed into place easily. Unfortunately, they have now seized into position and won't budge in or out! How can I remove them without causing damage?
