Re: Morini useage

My 1978 Sport was my only vehicle while living in Stuttgart for two years. It was reliable as Morinis often are, but dealing with a dry clutch and minimal flywheel in city traffic was not much fun. So yes, it can be done, but I would prefer to use a different bike if possible.

Alternator side cover - Regular kick-start, not electric start

I need a silver alternator side cover for my 1978 3.5 Sport. My guess is that most of the other models (125/250/500) use the same cover.

Regular kick-start, not the electric start version.

Please let me know if you have one available.

Re: Ducati 750 Sport

The other thing I'm pondering is converting to 17" wheels to allow better tyres. This also seems to be reasonably straightforward - but that's a way in the future. I'll get the thing running first. The Paso 907ie used 17" wheels with very good results, but I think Ducati tweaked its steer...

Re: Ducati 750 Sport

The Weber carburetor can be set up fine, but a set of Mikuni flat slides is nicer. There is a trick with the voltage regular—I seem to recall it needs to be rewired with better wires to work properly. There used to be a Ducati Paso and Sport website with details about it. It has been many years sinc...

Re: Top speed on a Strada?

70mph on a Morini is equivalent to 90mph because it is a Moto Morini.

The difference is imagination.

And probably carburetor tuning.

Re: Headlight or indicators but not both

The first thing I would look at is the battery. One must install the correct 15amp one for everything to work properly. I learned this the hard way similar to you. :? One easy thing to do: Replace the turn signal relay. They are inexpensive and should be easily obtained. The only other thing I can t...

Re: Elektronik Sachse Ignition group buy

I am interested—assuming Sachse will still ship to the USA. I don't see why not. They are quoting 56 euros ( $66 ) for 14 day delivery. Recent shipments to Amurkey have been inconsistent, especially from Germany. For example, it has been three weeks since my parcel from A.C. Schnitzer was handed ov...

Re: Installing Rear Sets on a 1979 500W

A partial fix for the kickstart lever clouting the Tarozzi brake lever is to shorten the peg on the brake lever. Mine is down to perhaps 10mm (two ribs' width on the Tarozzi rubber cover) and my NLM kickstart lever clears it. I had it slightly wider before, but the brake lever eventually broke at th...

Re: Labyrinth wanted for 350 Kangaro

FYI I seem to recall reading many years ago that use of the labyrinth was to provide a small amount of intentional back pressure for the crankcase—along with obvious protection against water ingress. Feel free to contradict me.

+1 on Keys4Classics. I have bought from them multiple times. Always accurate, always good stuff.
