Re: Suggestions to remove slop in gear lever pivot
There is a bush in the lever, I believe. The elegant solution would be to try and modify the pivot and fit a needle roller bearing.

Re: Valentini Replica
Julian,
I think there may be a market for Riservato Competitioni 'silencers'.
Thought about replicating these? I know this started out as Valentini, but appears to have expanded to RMS (but not Ricci Racer!).
Advantage is no need for downpipes. Disadvantage is two silencers!
Mike.

Too heavy for off road work.
Needs the higher touring screen and a flip then it works well.
I believe there is an upgrade to add sat nav mirroring a phone app on the screen, too.

Re: ObdII
Yes, you will need a small plug to OBD2.
If you look on ebay there are a few for sale. I used Tune Ecu lite and a Bluetooth OBD2 dongle connected to my tablet. Can't change the ECU map, luckily, but can look at other settings.

Re: Strada carbs
Did you replace the holder, too? You may find the needle has worn the holder and the new needle does not seal properly.
Or, by coincidence either the float has been holed or the lever pin is not seated properly and the float does not rise to the occassion. Check the float height, too, just in case.

Re: Gear shaft oil seal
I believe this one butts up against the case. I used a small pointy thing to fish it out and it is something simple to fit as there is no need to measure 2mm indent.

Re: post office rant
I sent a sat nav to Germany for repair. Filled in the customs form, paid for track and trace and settled down. After a week i checked and the PO sent me to Deutsche Post webshite. It said the parcel had cleared customs. I called the company and they said they would be contacted by the customs people...

I presume you mean a belt.
I buy mine from RS Components and replace every year. I usually try and buy Continental or other quality brands.
If you mean oil, I use Motul Semi synthetic 10/40.

Re: Recommendations for UK Customs Agents to complete a NOVA application?
Ming,
The NOVA process has been going on for years. The only change at the beginning was to pay VAT on the import. This is an out of control civil service and 650 MPs with an IQ of 1... between them...
