Re: low to mid range flat spot

Blooming 'eck! Italian manufacturing!

Try doing something on the intake rubbers. I've seen a take off fitted from the inside glued in with a screw on cap. I think it is essential on a Morini.

Re: Glass fuse replacement

Hi Joe,

Photos attached. Sorry for the delay, I forgot! You can see the two cables and three wires in each going top and bottom. Not the neatest of jobs I admit but it does the job and I carry the old continental fuses with me. Ignore the fourth fuse, it is for my non standard ignition.

Re: low to mid range flat spot

Hi Barney, Please see photo, the tube running up under the tank connects with the other carb. This is the balance port. If you look at the inlet rubber there is a boss where a hole was drilled on earlier bikes to put a takeoff for balancing. There was a mushroom shaped piece of metal that filled the...

Re: low to mid range flat spot

Hi Micky, valves adjusted spot on rear was slightly tight timing spot on with strobe, no take offs on my inlet rubbers to put vac gauges so I use an Su type on rear of carb, at tick over spot on equal, the cables I have adjusted using wire and feeling the free play and listening to them shutting, I...

Re: low to mid range flat spot

Have you checked the float heights? Have you synchronised the carbs? I mean not only getting the manometer levels equal but also rolling on the throttle so both columns track together? ie the throttle cable adjustment. I found this helps a lot. I presume valve clearances are correct and ignition tim...

There appears to be a good reason for that! 😁

Re: Glass fuse replacement

I did not use in line fuses. I'll post some photos. I made up wires and crimped some spade terminals.

Re: 1983 31/2 master cylinder

If there are no terminals then it will not have a brake light switch. The later ones had one. I got around it by buying a banjo with a pressure switch. It makes the banjo longer but it did the job.

Re: Brake discs

The calipers are reversible for left and right, if you look at them, as Jen says, it does not matter as either 'port' can be used for hydraulic pipe and bleed nipple.

Re: Glass fuse replacement

I made my own fuse wiring. All you need to do is plug each side of a new fuse holder to each side of the fuse box where each fuse is located. You need to piggy back one or two, but you can still use the original fuses if required. Completely reversible, too. Check the existing fuse rating and choose...

She was a motorcycle racer!

The BMW and Mercedes aero engines used fuel injection, the Rolls Royce used carburettors. It is always the simple ideas that help. I am glad modern bikes do not use carburettors!
