Thanks Tony, I would appreciate them. I wouldn't have thought that there was any difference in pillion footrests between the 350 and 500 (cue lots of people telling me how wrong I am). I have PMed you with my details.

I see that there is a drawing of special too...

Thanks for that Paddy - I did check ebay after I posted my request and have already ordered a 25mm one, which hopefully will arrive today. Anyone want an unused 1 inch AF socket?

Size of clutch nut

Have reached the point where I can undo the clutch nut (got past the broken stud without too much bother). I have measured across the flats of the nut and make it 25mm. I don't have a 25mm socket so have been looking in all the local car parts shops. Can I find one at 25mm? Can I b***ery! Is there s...

All combustion engines should have an oil pressure switch. There is an electrical circuit which starts with 12V sourced from the battery, connected through the red idiot light, along a wire that goes down the front left-hand tube of the frame and to the oil pressure switch which is located on the un...

Assuming you have checked the connection of the wire on the oil pressure switch, have you tried disconnecting the wire from the switch and measured the resistance of the end of the wire to earth? If the wire is damaged and shorted to earth then that would result in your symptoms. Otherwise buy yours...

Pillion footrests needed

Anyone got a pair of fold-up pillion footrests they don't need? The bike I just bought (a 500) didn't come with any. I assume they are the same as on the 3 1/2. Why they were taken off, I do not know - I have standard front footrests. If you live within an hour of Northampton, I'll come and pick the...

Was about to drill out the rivet on the steering lock as prep for replacing the lock when I realised that the business end (the blade) of the key was still in the lock. With a lot of WD40 and a sewing machine needle, I managed to extract the broken off blade. http://i329.photobucket.com/albums/l379/...

John, This product sounds good and seems to be recommended by others as well. I have ordered some from Frosts to use myself. What did you use to seal the filler aperture and tap apertures? If you used duct tape, did any of the chemicals dissolve the adhesive? Did you use cork or some other 'bung' as...

Here's my 500

Recently bought my first Morini. Here's a pic: http://i329.photobucket.com/albums/l379/t2ringer/Morini/Morini500.jpg It's a 79 model and it's grey. I was after a late model in red, but you can't have everything can you? Someone has fitted very high handlebars - great for round town, but not so good ...

I have standard footrests, but very high handlebars so riding position not too bad. Did get blown about a bit today though! Will consider fitting rearsets at a later date. Have more pressing jobs to attend to first, such as trying to remove the clutch when one of the clutch spring studs has come loo...

Steering Lock & Seat Lock

I have the ignition key but it doesn't fit the steering lock or the seat lock. Are they usually operated by different keys? Is it possible to determine the key reqd or do I need to purchase (if available!) new locks? Presumably the only way of removing the locks is to drill out the fixing rivet.

LH downpipe fouling brake linkage

Have just bought my bike so am still familiarising myself with it and 'fettling'. I noticed that the LH (rear cylinder) exhaust downpipe was fouling the rear brake linkage. I loosened the silencer and extended the fitting on the balance pipe and re-tightened the fixings. This was fine and the linkag...

To Rob, and all others.

I just bought my first Morini today. Not the colour I wanted, and needs a bit of sorting out, but hopefully will soon be on the road.

Regards
