I assume that you are talking about the long spacer that fits over the spindle and sits between the wheel bearings. Extracted from the 500W parts catalog: Front Wheel item 15 part# 43.07.05 Bearing spacer Ø17 x 25 x 61 Rear Wheel item 16 part# 43.20.15 Spacer Ø17 x 25 x 64.5 I don't have a copy of...

Thanks for the comprehensive reply Paul. Will put it on the list of 'things to do sometime in the future'. In the meantime, it gives me an excuse to ride up to Ellistown to buy the parts.

Front forks stripdown and refurbishment

Suspect that my LH front fork seal is going to go sometime soon. The dust cap is cracked and I think I see evidence of fork oil smeared on the part of the fork above the seal (sorry, don't know the correct term). How difficult is it / what's involved in sorting this out? Special tools needed? What p...

Dave, I am not particularly into racing myself, but would be interested in coming along as a spectator and to mingle with other Morini owners. Is this possible? If so, could I take my bike into the circuit even if I am not participating in the trackday riding?

Leather trousers

I am looking to buy some leather trousers. Normally, I take size 34 or 36 inch waist trousers with a 34 leg. What sort of fit should I be looking for with leather trousers for riding on my bike? Should the waist be 'comfortable' i.e. 36in for me, or should it be 'snug' i.e. 34in. Do leather trousers...

Hello Tony, There is a leak from between the crankcase halves right at the front, between the engine mountings. http://i329.photobucket.com/albums/l379/t2ringer/Morini/oilleakfrontoffrontcyl.jpg I also replaced the clutch seals, though have discovered it is still leaking there. Either I nicked one o...

Well, the more I ride the bike, the better I'm getting at finding neutral. Would still prefer to have a neutral indicator light working if possible. Due to persistent oil leaks will have to split engine case at some point to attend to gaskets/joints/seals. May look into possibility of retro fitting ...

Retro fit wiring for neutral warning light

My 500 is an early one - made before they fitted the wiring for the neutral warning light (I think). Is it possible to retro-fit this feature? Has anyone else done this? I'm sure I read about it somewhere but I can't find the article or topic now. Thinking it will help me know when I select neutral ...

A step-by-step guide on how to upload photos to Photobucket and how to link to them in your posts. This may sound complicated, but do it once and thereafter it is straightforward. Go to www.photobucket.com Register with them - it is very quick, you just need to get a confirmation email. Can then be ...

O-ring on kickstart assembly

After refitting clutch & kickstart etc and taking the bike for a run, have noticed oil leaking out along the kickstart shaft. The O-ring was definitely in place on the kickstart assembly before I fitted the cover, but it was pushed back against the spring cup as you can see in the photos: http:/...

Jacks Hill Cafe near Towcester

Now the weathers getting better it's time to get out and about on a Sunday morning on your Morini and blow the cobwebs away. There's a place near me called Jacks Hill Cafe. A typical old-style transport cafe. It is a regular meeting place for bikers from all over the place. This weekend there were a...

I've finally got my 500 back on the road. Does anyone race to cafes now Jack's Hill Cafe, just outside of Towcester on the A5. Sunday late morning/lunchtime. About 100 bikes there this weekend, modern and old. A decent good old British transport cafe too. Steve, is your Morini roadworthy? Less than ...
