500 Strada front brakes.........
New pads and discs from Mdina fitted. They all went in really easily and seem identical to the ones that they replaced. Odd thing though. There seems to be virtually no clearance between the discs and the edges of the caliper body on the sides where the pads are fixed (the inner sides) and I think t...

Front wheel fitting..........
Well, this is odd. I fitted new discs and pads and fork springs and it was all a piece of cake and I felt that Morinis are really nice to work on then I came to refit the front wheel and it's driving me nuts. The axle went through easily until it came to the fat bit and it's either not going through...

500 FRONT AXLE AND REAR DISC BRAKE
I took the front wheel off to take the discs off and the spacer dropped out and i just 20250429_092005.jpg wanted to check it's the right way round before refitting please (photo attached) and the rear disc works OK but is rally grooved and looks awful. Mdina Italia have front discs but not rear doe...

Re: 500 Strada front forks...........
Yep, there's a tubular spacer on top of the spring but still very easy to compressMickeyMoto wrote: ↑27 Apr 2025 19:21 The 31/2 has a spacer above the spring. It requires a push down to be able to screw in the top cap.
I presume the 500 has the same.

500 Strada front forks...........
I am continuing to fettle my Strada and it's coming along pretty well but I have a question about the front forks. While doing my pretend "MOT test" on the bike I noticed that when you pump the front forks they push down fine but don't seem to return all the way up afterwards. I thought I'...

Re: Brake discs
I had a similar issue on the bike I bought last year. There was a dark print of the brake pad on the inside face of the disc and a consequent pulsing of the brake at low speed. Particularly annoying when trying to come to a smooth halt. Colour me nasty but I introduced the brake disc to my random o...

Re: Brake discs
They don't look to bad on the outside, but the insides are very patchy

Re: Brake discs
Update on brakes - the rear disc is sorted, it looks like it could do with a skim but it works as well as i want a rear brake to work and there's no binding any more. Front discs do need sorting though in that they seem reasonably powerful and smooth about about 30 but between 30 and 5 pulsing gets ...

Re: Centre stand.....
If your pivot points are worn or the frame bent then the rear tyre will nearly be touching the ground (depending on the rubber profile) and you will have more to lift/further to heave Cheers, I think it maybe just a combination of wear and tear on me and also being used to more modern bikes' stands

Thank youGeorge 350 wrote: ↑24 Mar 2025 20:47 And if you go for replacements, make sure you specify the thread pitch you need! Both 1mm and 1.5mm pitches were used.
If Mdina have no stock, classic ducati might well have.

Re: Fork top bolt question...........
Hi Tim. Sounds to me that they need a Torx bit or screwdriver. They are widely available.. Screwfix, Halfords, Machine Mart etc.. Cheers, yes they look like torx but maybe a bit "wavier" but that ma be because they have been roughed up a bit in the past! Here's a picture! P3050012.JPG
