maybe if I keep it, bought it because of the elec start, hernia op in about 3 weeks so hopefully back on my Strada after that.
What model are they please, I will have a look and see what the cost is, I can do my own cables and brackets to steady them
Thanks barney

Re: low to mid range flat spot
It is how the Sport is. Use the gearbox. Back in the day it was reckoned to being akin to a two smoke. As I have aged (not matured) I prefer the gentler Strada. Hmm, I thought that might be the case, and your right my 76 Strada is a nicer ride, I bought this as at the minute I’m struggling to start...

Re: low to mid range flat spot
IMG_1381.jpeg Ok upadate, vac ports added to carbs, ultrasonic cleaned, balanced at tickover and 2000 rpm, nice crisp pick up off idle, then took it for 20 mile thrashing, revs up to red line, rides fine if you thrash it all the time but if the rpm is between 3-5000 and gently roll on the throttle ...

Re: low to mid range flat spot
It has VHBZ carbs and has new rubber manifolds that I have fitted but not sure where the balance pipe would go, this would help me greatly if it had that, yes it does have a tail piece
Thanks barney

Re: low to mid range flat spot
Googling tells me that a 115 main jet should be .0455” I have a .047 drill bit that goes in easy so maybe the main jet a bit worn, interested in comments on this please, would this make enough difference ?
Thanks again for looking

Re: low to mid range flat spot
Hi Micky, valves adjusted spot on rear was slightly tight timing spot on with strobe, no take offs on my inlet rubbers to put vac gauges so I use an Su type on rear of carb, at tick over spot on equal, the cables I have adjusted using wire and feeling the free play and listening to them shutting, I’...

Re: low to mid range flat spot
Thanks George very informative, carbs were balanced with a meter on the rear as there are no ports in the inlet rubber unlike the strada, so the tick over should be fine but when come off that it was done with wire and carefully adjusting cables so they feel spot on but not the best way I know, will...
