They do have C shape slots - the picture M&P use is representative only. I attach a picture of the ones which were the wrong size I bought (160mm - Ferodo FSB876) Also see Ferodo's fitment lists. I fitted a set of Ferodo FSB853 shoes to my cast wheel 1979 Strada a couple of weeks ago.
They are 180mm and might fit your bike.
