Re: 1975 3 1/2 Sport
Annoyingly i have been bitting and batting at the bike as i was working over Christmas.
I've whipped off the front and rear wheels as the brakes were stuck on, was a bit of a farse as the brake shaft was seized in the housing.
So front is stripped, cleaned, lubed, rebuilt ready go in. Rear is next ...

Re: 1975 3 1/2 Sport
Cheers bud, it's pretty easy you can grab some microfibre buffing wheels for your drill off Amazon, then i went first with some Meguiars NXT and finished with some Mothers Mag and Aluminium.RedVee wrote: 01 Jan 2026 14:33 Seeing you polishing bits makes me guilty as my old Strada could do with some of the same.

Re: 1975 3 1/2 Sport
Any tips to secure them? They're loose pretty loose especially the left one it spins on tickover.
I was thinking some bits of inner tube stretched over the clock to bite the rubber housing?

Re: 1975 3 1/2 Sport
After celebrating getting the old girl going again i decided to throw everything on that i've got today. I also put on a bit of Lanogaurd rust treatment on some of the more soiled bits
Found a few bits missing which i've posted on the wanted bit, i've started on with cleaning it up a bit after ...

A few bits
Hello all
I'm looking for a few things for 1975 3 1/2 sport
Nearside (if that makes a difference) airbox to carb pipe that isn't split
Knob for "3 1/2" fairing piece
Tarrozi brake lever
Cheers

Re: 1975 3 1/2 Sport
Great to hear the bike running, Matt!.. Well done you! :)
I had to do a double take when I switched on the video clip. I thought I'd come across the first ever 3½ Sport with a right foot kick starter..
Should have gone to Specsavers..
Don't worry you're not the first had a few mates ...

Re: 1975 3 1/2 Sport
Thanks everyone
Its been quite a journey to get to here, i ended up destroying a carb trying to retrieve a snapped screw out of it.
It ended up being a blessing in disguise as it was a VHBZ25HS which didnt match with the VHB25BS which I'm guessing is why my dad always had issues with it running ...
