Does it have wire or cast wheels - my 78 sport is actually a 76 it would seem.

If wire the sport and strada rear drums are different sizes - strada drum is smaller!
Not sure if this carried over to the cast wheels.

Have you checked the slide heights - perhaps the screw stops are screwed too far in or the throttle cables are not allowing the slide to drop right down?

Blue light should only come on when the main beam is on - check the lamp is not earthing through a rout it should not be. If flashers are fitted they have to work.
