Useful web links
Not sure where to put this, so here it is. I have been using the following to help me with a few Morini matters. Apologies if they are well known Many useful resorces:- https://hofmann-andi.de/MoriniWebsite/Willkommen.html I have been making use of the CAD data with my 3D printer. The local Dutch re...

Re: alternator stator rivets
Searching through old posts lead me to one explaing that you can measure the voltage between the green wire and earth. The suggestion is that 50v would be good. Oh dear mine puts out 5v. Guess it is definitely the ignition coil in the stator.

Re: Dart added to the herd.
On my honda 400 I successfully repaired part of the broken seat cowl tab using A.B.S. slurry. Mix chopped up A.B.S. with avetone to make a gloopy glue. Shrinks as it hardens so may need a few layers building up and needs a day or 2 to fully harden. The black bit under the nut:- 20251008_150801_1.jpg...

Re: alternator stator rivets
The good news; I have drilled out 2 of the rivets, I have left the third with the solder joint as I did not want to disturb it. The 2 drilled out rivets are replaced with M4 machine screws, nylock nuts on the back (and a bit of Loctite for good measure). The laminations appear to be concentric with ...

Re: Winter riding vs. Winterisation
Last year I chose the times to ride over the winter on my 250. This year I have drained the tank while I do some work on it. Just to amuse this photo is of the 350 sport I got in 1983, just before I sold it to a friend in 91. A man in his twenties (me), mostly only transport and no money to look aft...

Re: alternator stator rivets
Interested to hear how you do fix it when it's done. I have a spare stator in a similar condition-haven't needed it yet! As for the running problems, I think it would likely upset the earthing of the ignition coil to the back plate and crankcase. It might well behave like a coil that is breaking do...

Re: alternator stator rivets
Update: So rivets loose again. Some axial play but not touchIng the flywheel (that I can see). I wonder if it is more crash damage? 1) will be investigating new rivets: anybody know what size I need? 2) is a loose stator enough to make the engine run horribly? Mis-fires above 5500 and will not ticko...

Re: Spark Plug angle
A bit late but...
I had the plug out of my 250 2c and used a piston depth gauge. Photo and some CAD for the following:
There will be some inaccuracy due to drawing the lines and parallax with the angle I held the phone at, but may help someone in the future.

In the VMCC mag
If you are in the VMCC there is an article in this month's (November) about my 250 2c. Mostly the same as the article that was in the club magazine a while ago.

Re: ABBA stand for Milano and SuperScrambler
I have used an Abba stand for many bikes over a number of years. As you say a game changer. If you have a lathe, or friend with one, I have found it very easy to turn up adapters for different bikes, even my 250 (a bit high when using the footrest bosses).

This for a ducati, no idea how you would translate that to the Morini wiring
