Re: Clutch refit issues
Any progress adjusting the clutch actuating arm at the engine? I had to shorten an inner once following a new clutch pack installation. Yes thanks I've managed to adjust everything via a combination both at the actuating arm and at the handlebar. Clutch still not working though - simply grabs and t...

Re: Clutch refit issues
Many thanks that's very useful info. I hadn't looked at adjusting the clutch cable at the crankcase end so I'll do that next. You mention whether the clutch pushrod has gone AWOL and I don't think it has - the mushroom/pressure plate lifter is operating correctly and I imagine it wouldn't move if th...

Clutch refit issues
Hello All I've just put a new clutch in my '77 Strada closely following PC's Youtube video. However, I have a couple of problems and I would love to hear people's views on how I can resolve them: 1. The clutch cable is only a year old and has covered 1500 miles. With the new clutch the lever at the ...

Re: Fuel tap overhaul
Many thanks for your responses I was hoping to keep the original tap if poss. I've managed to get the tap apart and I've taken the diaphragm out and turned it around and refitted the tap to the bike. It's petrol tight but I will need to get a new diaphragm and fit that before the summer Cheers Martin

Fuel tap overhaul
Hello Everyone
The manual fuel tap on my 1977 Strada is leaking and I wonder if there is an overhaul option/kit? If not, what alternative procedures can be recommended? Many thanks in advance

Surflex or Newfren clutch
Hello All
I am replacing the friction plates in my 1977 Strada and there seems to be a choice between Surflex and Newfren, I wonder if anyone has any views on which to choose?
Many thanks

Re: Clutch overhaul tools
I bought a generic clutch holding tool off Ebay. I did have to grind the holder parts of the tool until they were a snug fit in the hub splines, but after doing that it worked very well. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53076269351_6d5866f21c_c.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53076678795...

Re: Clutch overhaul tools
Many thanks for your response. Yes I should
have said ‘hub’ as opposed to ‘basket’! I’ve found one of the BSA/Triumph tools on eBay so many thanks for that. Unfortunately I don’t have an old clutch plate so I think I’ll try a universal clutch holder
Thanks again

Hello All I have a small oil leak from the clutch cover on my ‘77 Strada and so need to replace the seals. I’ve seen Paul’s excellent video but I have a question re special tools. I think I need one to remove the clutch cover and a second to hold the clutch basket when I slacken the central nut. I w...
