Re: Engine Oil

As always many different ways of skinning the cat. Only had the bike 5 years but always use Putoline DX4 10/40, they only make bike oil and it’s their more basic semi with around 30% synthetic. As I only do around 1-1500 miles a year I lay up in winter with fresh oil so the nasty contaminates can’t ...

Rear chrome downpipe Strada 1980

I’ve repaired the bottom bolt hole twice, don’t think I can fix it again! Be interested to know if anyone has one, with the threads intact please let me know 😊

Re: Top Of The Pops.

I don’t know if this post will ride on into the distance but here’s three that are my favourite riding anthems:

The Other Kind-Steve Earle
Roll Me Away-Bob Seger
Take the Long Way Home-Supertramp (not really about riding but it works for me!

Re: Auction results.

Thanks Jen; it’s hard to know whether over £50k is the right money for what could be the Provini bike. But that’s what has been paid and going on how rare and storied the Bialbero is I’m sure the new owner will be pretty satisfied 😊

Re: Classic Morini race bikes.

Tell you what Jenny, if that really is Provini’s bike, or has provenance that it’s one of the same factory machines from that season, it should be gold dust. This makes a refreshing change from auction houses seemingly having a large cellar where they’ve stored 50 Brough Superiors, bringing one out ...

Re: Frame pain inspiration

These are all personal opinions so all possibly of varying value; here’s my (probably worthless) opinion. My MK5 3 1/2 has a black frame, red bike gold wheels, it looks absolutely correct IMO. Every Morini of this era I’ve seen with a red frame simply doesn’t look right, again IMO. Silver slightly b...

Re: Insurance premium renewal jollies

Yep, total mystery aren’t they? Another gem was when LV one year were cheaper for our cars, home and travel insurance. As we’d then got a multi-policy discount I thought I’d try them for my bike renewal which stood at £170. They quoted £350 and couldn’t reduce it. So I stayed with Highway, who are a...

Re: VMCC Founders Day 2025.

I’m planning on a nice non-motorway journey to this event on my MK5 Strada (July picture in the 2024 calendar). I live in Rotherham, beside J33 M1 and will be very happy for any other riders from the area-or on the journey down- to ride in. I’ll post a couple of times nearer to the event but I’m loo...

Insurance premium renewal jollies

Whilst no real proof is needed that insurance premiums are dreamt up in a Jimi Hendrix style purple haze whist smoking cigars and spinning a roulette wheel, I’ll just supply you with my dealings this evening for my 1980 Strada.. Current Premium to 6/1/25 paying by DD including breakdown, legal etc £...

A very big thank you to this great club!

A couple of weeks ago, I ordered a couple of t-shirts (for my lads to get me for Christmas, at least I get what I want this way!), a calendar, a mug & some stickers. All arrived in time for the big day-from two separate places- but the quality of the products & packaging was excellent. Then,...

Respectfully, wouldn’t this receive a better audience in ‘Off Road Bikes’? You posted in there for the same bike earlier today. Just trying to help..😊

Re: New 3 1/2 at Eicma show

This is good news and the broadening choice and improving quality from Asia is good to see. It’s probably an emission or catalyser packaging matter but I’d have loved to see twin silencers on the 3 1/2..
