Re: wiring
Mdina seem to have added left hand switch gear in kit form for about £20 less than one wired up if anyone was interested in my previous post- Duncan

Re: wiring
Hello - thanks for the input on whether to crimp and/or solder - and as I say I will still need to solder to the switch gear. Wonder if anyone can still enlighten me on what size/amp of wire to use for the general wiring and whether replacement main switch gear is available anywhere - thanks - Duncan
Re: wiring
Yes have see the looms ( and was thinking of purchasing) but wasn't sure about getting them from Italy under current conditions -and of getting the right one for a 79 with starter motor also - also presumably will still have to solder to the switchgear. speaking of which - throttle side is fine but ...
wiring
Hello - going to use the time available to re do some of my wiring - please bear with me as I am not familiar with some of this (I have tidied some of the existing wiring replacing connectors etc) but completely re-doing bits seems quite daunting. First is wire size - what seems to have come off is ...

Re: Bracket identification
Neither my 79 sport or 79 frame (in case of emergency) have that bracket so presume it is an added extra - for what I have no idea! - thanks - Duncan

Re: swing arm bushes
They compressed quite a bit - I was quite surprised at how much- they are now a close tolerance on the smaller of the pins - similar to the removed ones and they were fine when fitted so I may fit with that pin and if there are issues get them reamed to the larger one - thanks for input - Duncan

swing arm bushes
Hello -How much movement should there be between the bush and swing arm pin before fitting in the arm? ie how close is the tolerance. When I stripped my bike for its overhaul I removed the bushes from my swing arm and a spare I had to see which tidied up best. The pin that was on the bike was quite ...

Re: tank problem
The brown marks weren't rust - the paint is yellow and around the raised areas it was brown - there was only a very small area of lift over what seem to be the cracks and there was no other evidence of leakage and the liner seems in good condition - all in all it seems a bit odd. I sealed the tank l...

tank problem
Hello -started to get on with the tank so dragged it out from where I had stored it after initial strip down. Cleaned it up and noticed two small brown linear paint lifts under the tank. On removing the paint there seem to be two small cracks in the tank, they are in the same place on either side of...

Re: Double disc to single conversion
Yes it goes through the brake hose into the master cylinder with the wiring coming out of the top of the bolt - if that makes sense - I have one fitted but have to admit I haven't actually connected the wiring into the system yet (after some time fitted) - that's going to be part of my winter rebuil...

Re: winter stripdown
With a few clear days finally got the strip down finished, even the centre stand came off without a fight. Just a couple more bits to do so 1. How are the centre stand rubbers attached to the frame? do they just lever off? 2. What's the best way to remove the head bearing cups from the frame? 3. Whe...
