Thanks Norbert, the front calipers are the triangle ones. They don't have a plastic cap across the top. (edited as the penny has dropped after a coffee!)

I also require the same components, or at least the bolt if anyone has one available.

Yes, this is the original twin disk 500 SEI with Grimeca calipers mounted rigidly to the forks. It seems I have a combination of issues from those suggested. The top stepped bolt on that caliper is bent, I hadn't noticed on disassembly, but checked by rotating in a drill. Will post a seperate reques...

Thanks for input. There was no spacer between the caliper and fork. This is what I was thinking of shimming. Back in the workshop tomorrow and will check further.

I heard a grating noise from my front brake yesterday so rode home slowly and just using the rear brake. Upon examination today, the pads on the left caliper have worn very unevenly and are very thin and below the limit in some corners. I have ordered new pads. A previous owner has rebuilt the brake...

Not tried that product, nor sealing a plastic tank, I used a product called Slosh on a steal tank 4 or 5 years ago. I've done about 12000 miles since. Paul Goff sells LED tailights with rear facing red and peripheral white lights which provids distinguishable brake and rear plus good number plate illumination, highly recommended.

The possible purchase has gone quiet. The bike belongs to a friend of a friend who lives 6 hours away. He was going to send photos, but hasn't yet. Evidently he doesn't live near the bike. One day maybe!

WD40 isn't a very effective penetrating oil. Plus gas or loctite freeze and release are more effective. Worth reying one hf these before resorting to more brutal means. Doesn't always work, but a good start.
