HJ Pugh auction - Morini project
This appears to be a single cylinder off road bike, from the photo I can't even tell if it is a Morini! Auction Fri/Sat this week.

Re: Daft (?) Question re engine dismantling
I had the opposite on the flywheel side. The woodruff had chattered and was a loosefit. I replaced the key, but it is possible someone in similar circumstances has used loctite in the past. You could try scraping the edge with a stanley knife and seeing if that removes any sort of bond, at least suf...

Re: Loctite removal
I'm not aure if all loctite products are the same, but with loctite 542 a hairdryer will soften it for easy scraping. I then used a universal cleaner solvent which I have for surface prep to remove the residue. This was a Motul sample which I bought at an autojumble. All the writing is Japanese so I...

Re: Final meeting at Too Hoots, Devil's Bridge, Wales
I can't make it tomorrow. Went on Thursday to say diolch yn fawr to the owners and staff and have a final cheese and onion pasty. Very sad that it's closing, however the Woodlands tea room at Devil's bridge is 1/2 mile away and biker friendly, just not quite the atmosphere. Same great rides there.

Metzler roadtec recommendation
With the demise of Avon following the factory closure I thought I would try a 110/90 Metzler on the back of my SEI. After about 500 miles riding around the Cambrian mountains on wet and dry roads I'm very happy with it. When I bought the Morini it had Avons fitted front and rear and handling was fin...

Ignition coil rewinding
I have been informed by West Country Windings that they nolonger rewind Morini 3 1/2 or 500 ignition coils. I have sent enquiries to: BB Bikeshop - previous recommendation on the forum Rex's speed shop - previous forum posts suggerst they have stopped doing rewinds but website still advertises this ...

Re: Foot pegs Guzzi's VS Morini's
I can't answer your question definitely, but last September I visited the Start Gomma stand at Imola and bought Morini rubbers. The footrest rubbers were on a display board and labelled Morini. The kickstart and gear change rubbers came from under the counter, possibly more generic? I don't remember...

Didn't make it to Willersey, crocked knee and unable to ride that far. Improving with physio, good enough to ride to Baskers only an hour away.

Re: Welcome new forum members - introduce yourself
Welcome Steve, a Morini certainly does suit the south Shropshire borders, had a wonderful thrash to the Marches Italia from Powys. Left my Laverda at home that day.
