Hi Keith
Difficult to say really. The frame and bottom half of the running gear is 1980 Spada, but it had Le Mans 2 tank fitted at some stage early 80s . . . . . as they all did.

Hi Keith
I'm in Cambridge with a 250 2C and I still have Guzzi, so your profile name caught my eye and thought I should say hello!

Re: Part throttle jetting
Be great to meet up sometime given we're not so far apart. I'll sell the transducers if someone needs them, rather than wanting them for stock. They were only on the bike for 10 miles before I realised that while they corrected the original timing problem, the pickup was dodgy as well. knowing what ...

Re: Part throttle jetting
Both the table on the archived Netherlands site and one sent to me by Euro Carbs say 40 jet size. Mine was fitted with 42 for some reason, before I got it. The problem is with anything this age is previous owners could have fiddled with jet/slide/needle sizes trying to correct ignition problems! htt...

Re: Float valves
I've just heard back from EuroCarbs and the needle is a 200. He attached a very comprehensive table with jetting for all Morinis from 1974 - 1985, in Italian. I'll ask permission to upload it to the website. It shows 200 for everything 250cc and upwards apart from 1984 Camel 501 which is 250 for som...

Re: Float valves
The needle tips look smaller than those on the EuroCarb website, black rather than red and don't have the marking for genuine Dellorto on them. I'm sure I'd have replaced them as a matter of course while I was ordering the rebuild kits and they certainly had new choke plungers as the old ones had go...

Float valves
Having booked my ferry ticket for the French Rally, I rushed outside and pulled the covers of the 250 to see what it needed by way of TLC. It started up ok, but petrol was dripping out of one carb after a minute of running. It's had a weep from the carb bowls end of the summer, as if the fuel level ...

Re: Low compression 3 1/2
My 250 2C had been stood around for few years and the older guy who owned it said it was only used very occasionally for a short local run around. It only had around 24k on the clock and looked like it had been well cared for I gave it a service and went for a Ride Out to the coast with a group of f...

Re: 500 Ignition Timing Problem
I went with the SWF kit as it come complete with coils, wiring and even mounting brackets. Considerably cheaper than the Sachse kit. I have used Sachse on other bikes though with no problems

Re: 500 Ignition Timing Problem
I had this on my 250 2C - front cylinder stuck on full advance, this being controlled by the transducers. I changed the transducers which cured it, but then the pick up turned out to be a bit dodgy. These were unavailable at the tie, so I went with an replacement system from SWF which transformed th...

Ignition Pickups
I've received an email from Stein Dinse to say the pickup I ordered in January is in stock. This was followed from an email from Alesandro in Ital to day he has some too. It's a bit late for me as I've fitted ignition from SWF, but good news for others if they are available again

Re: 250 2C instrument surround
That's exciting news! I was talking to a friend about scanning and SD printing, but the problem is finding an undamaged one from a 250 to scan. He was cautious about finding a printable plastic suitable to withstand the use on a bike. An aluminium casting would of course solve this problem!

Don't feel stupid - it took me a while to realise my beautiful and expensive new pump was reading 10psi low.

Re: Wanted: journeys on a moto morini
I've only been on the Morini for a couple of years, so no real adventures. I'm itching to get it on a ferry though. The 250 is actually quite comfortable now it's got the right saddle. I was keeping an eye out for the Rally in South Germany that was mentioned at the Rally in Maidstone. Hopefully I'l...
