Re: Ignition timing issues
These are the photo's I sent to Alex. IMG_20230612_081932157.png IMG_20230612_082104015.png Until I looked at the potos, I'd not really nticed the chock block is actualy holding a componant, rahter than just joining wires. It's not got any markings, but I suspect it's a diode, which would make sense...

Re: Ignition timing issues
Hi Mark Thanks for the advice! I'd actually contacted Alex yesterday and he's put a couple of transducers in the post for me. He did ask me to check the pick up colour first (black) , so at least everything will be matched. The bike's currently fitted with the red transducers shown on the Dutch site...

Re: Ignition timing issues
I've probably answered my own question. I just check the rear cylinder and while its a bit difficult to see anything even in the shade today, that does act as exected. Thinking about it, the front one just seems to be stuck on full advance (with occasional flickering) so presumably something has gon...

Ignition timing issues
I've been using the morini for a while but I noticed the idle was becoming a bit unreliable, then one of the plastic choke levers snapped off so I thought it might be time for a carb ovehaul. I got couple of genuine gasket kits from Eurocarbs and 2 new choke plungers and put the whole lot through th...

Re: 250 2C instrument surround
Thanks for the great information.
A quick searck on Mdina Italia with the part number doesn't show anything. Do you happen to know if they are stil available new from anywhere?
Thanks
Barry

250 2C instrument surround
Hi all
The plastic on the clock surrounds has started to dsintegrate with age and one of the mounting holes has now broken up completely.
Do you know if these are the same as any other model, so I can widen my search?
Many thanks!
Barry

Re: Welcome new forum members - introduce yourself
I'm hoping to go over to see the bike again later in the week, so I'll take a camera and get some shots of the side stand and fairing mounts. We did take it off carefully and kept the mounting brackets. I know the lowers have some quite long spacers on the bottoms. My friend rode it back, so I've no...

Re: Welcome new forum members - introduce yourself
Hi Mark Looking at Google images, I think you are right about the seat, as they do seem to have the hump at the back. The base and fitting looked right, so I think someone might have trimmed off the foam to fit a generic cover which is a bit of a pain. I'll go with the Metzelers then. Don't worry ab...

Re: Welcome new forum members - introduce yourself
I didn't take much notice of the side stand, but I'm not sure it's staying on. The Bike is at a friends at the moment, so I'll get some proper photos when I go over. The previous owner was in his 70s, so it could have been added when the centre stand became a bit much. I don't know if they had one a...

Re: Welcome new forum members - introduce yourself
Hi All Barry here in Cambridge. I'm a long-term Guzzi owner but a 1981 Morini 250 which I know little about has come into my possession! It's in good condition and just a few little jobs need doing to bring it up to standard. It's got the look of a bike that's always been looked after, which make a ...
