Re: Tank Rubbers?
... I seem to recall many years ago that I had to remove about 3 mm from the front of the seatpan of a second hand dual seat I bought to stop it contacting the tank. ... Ahh! It's not just me then?!! Had to do the same before I had the tank painted. The seat was always a 'whack to fit' on the bike,...

Re: Tank Rubbers?
I use a Moto Guzzi tank rubber that goes on the centre spar under the tank. Like this ... https://gutsibits.co.uk/pr/TheShop/index.php?f=e&Shnew=1&Model=7&ModelName=Le+Mans+1%2C+Le+Mans+2%2C+Le+Mans+3%2C+Le+Mans+1000%2C+1000S&Cat=FRA&CatName=Frames+and+Fittings&Sort=TitleDesc...

Re: Speedo Cable
Not sure if I've tried it with the Mornini, but back in the day with older Jap bikes that did this (CB750SOHC, GT250, etc) I would ensure there was plenty of grease worked into the cable (you have to be careful near the top apparently though). This would damp down things extremely well.

Re: Morini List
Hi, I know a lot of people here also use the Morini List (moto-morini.net), have people been getting bounce-backs? Just hope it hasn't disappeared again. Simon Hmm. Just tested and it comes back with: <morini@moto-morini.net>: Host or domain name not found. Name service error for name=moto-morini.n...

Re: Bike for sale but V5 has the wrong colour
I wouldn't worry about it too much, as others have said, as long as the frame numbers etc match and there's an explanation. I have an early Fireblade (1992). At the last MOT the tester noticed that the 'cc' was down as 899, rather than the true 893. Changed now but DVLA didn't query it. I also havea...

Re: Tyre recommendations please
Got Roadriders myself and they seem absolutely fine, though haven't worn a set out yet to comment on longevity .... (note to self: must get out more ... ). As for fitting I always use the tyre supplier, or a local mechanic. They're more used to doing it and have all the kit. I personally gave...

Re: Fuel in Sump oil and sticky clutch
Re. the clutch - take off the outer panel and take the clutch plates out. That way you can check to see if oil is getting past the seals and contaminating the plates. Oh, I assume that it is adjusted correctly .....

Re: Timing Belt supplier
Just to add to this. I've found a local supplier for the Gates Belt that Paul mentions he gets from Beeline. They are Brammer ... http://www.brammer.co.uk/ ... their website is cr*p at showing all their products, as is the DVD based manual they let me have, even when copied to my PC  I paid ab...

Re: Another lighting question
Hmmm. On my Sport the ignition key has 3 settings. The middle is 'off'. One click forward(**) from 'off' is 'side lights on'. One click BACK(**) from 'off' is 'ignition on'. The headlights on/off/dip/main is all controlled from the handle bar switch. Though I beleive there are two forms of switch so...

Re: Idiot lights
As Steve said, red light is always on ... :?: :?: Thought it was stupid idea, though I'm sure there was a good reason for it back in the Morini design offices in the early 70s (probably just after a couple of bottles of a nice Chianti ... :D ). I bought an indicator unit with separate connector for ...

Re: My first night time foray
Yep, the instruments do have lights in them (at least my 77 Sport does - with electronic tacho). I guess, check the bulbs first. But I also had a problem with the one in the speedo (I think it was) still not lighting. For some reason the bulb holder wouldn't earth against the instrument bowl. Ended ...

Re: Missing Parts
I used this url ... http://w6rec.com/duane/bmw/lock/index.htm ... to remove/replace the steering lock on my 77 bike. Can't remember exactly but you could well find that the steering lock is, in fact, the same as the Beemer. That will, at least, give you more options when looking.
