‘79 31/2 Sport
My 31/2 Sport is up for sale. Bought two years ago from Lusso Veloce (formerly NLM). Since then I’ve replaced the tyres ( Roadriders ), the silencers (Armours stainless, painted black), the shocks (NJB) and the carb needles. I’ve also changed the jets for smaller ones, refurbed the disc, fitted a ne...

‘79 31/2 Sport for sale
I’ve come to the conclusion that my Sport needs to be moved on to someone who will use her more than I do. A 1979 Sport, basically stock with 23,850Kms (around 15,000 miles) showing on the speedo. Cosmetically not great, but not too bad either, one dent on top of tank. Red frame, red with black pins...

Re: Carburettors
Just taken my Sport out for the first time this year. I changed the pilot jets from 50s to 45s. What a difference! It now pulls cleanly from low revs and picks up really nicely, I’m also approaching a reliable tick over. Best ten quid I’ve spent in a long time. A really enjoyable run. Now it just po...

Re: carb issue
Hi,
It is possible to put the slides in back to front and this can lead to the revs building and building, not a nice thing (don’t ask how I know). Maybe worth checking?

Re: Carburettors
Thanks guys,
I’ll start with reducing the jets, I’m pretty sure they’re still as they left the factory. I like the idea of modifying the slides (but doubt my competence at getting it right!)
I’ll let you know how I get on.

Re: Carburettors
Just thinking about waking my Sport up and got thinking about my low rev stumble. I know that the jets probably need reducing BUT I’m not clear what size is recommended. It’s a ‘79 Sport with electric start.
Any help gratefully received.

Hi,
I’m not sure they are right for my bike (it’s a’79) so you take them.
Regards,
Stuart
