Mine has a piece of rubber clearly fashioned from inner tube. Not pretty with a big knot in it but effective.

Green laning you'd be running about 12 psi so you have plenty of scope to experiment.

I think I almost certainly greeted and possibly shook hands with everyone marshalling the whole 150 miles? I'm just waiting on the results to be published now-as I can't remember which of the hills I actually made it to the top of? I think I only managed a clean on one of them as even a single foot...

Ref the flag waving marshals. Yes there were a number of different classes, only 2 of them had to do the stop/restart on the flag signal. I was in the 'fall here' class.
