My understanding is there is a clutch shim washer, too thick and the clutch drum can bind on the centre hub.
Mdina do seem to have these listed under clutch shim 0.9 ir 0.7mm. Needs a bit of trial and error.

Re: side panel knobs
Also see Vital Parts Uk. Think Mike Smyth has some knobs on ebay too.
I always have a bath tap washer 3/4 inch glued onto the frame then a smaller tap washer on the knob- they never come undone.

Re: Ignition Timing
If I was refitting the pickup from scratch I’d want the cutaway to be facing at about the four o clock position. See fig 23 page 23 of the Blue book. These magnets can get cocked on the shaft when removing so try and avoid that, or you will break into a sweat. Also see https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=...

E17 needle, clip on 2nd position should be correct.
What atomisers are you using?
The jets will also wear, they are cheap though.

Re: Refinishing old fasteners.
I had a bit of experimentation with home brew nickel plating a year or so ago.Bit of a lash up. Mainly tried it on wheel spindle exterior ends and the caps on pillion footrests. There are commercial DIY kits for metal plating too. You have to have clean grease free metal whatever way you go. Disposa...

Re: Timing belt question
That is really interesting. All the technical specs I have seen always quote an upper temperature of 100 oC. Of course that may merely be as far as they test to.

Re: Chain and sprockets
I use 520 x ring . Bit of overkill I expect. 530 will fit just but only a “normal” chain ( ie not o or x ring) It’s tge engine sprocket/crankcase clearance that is the issue.

Re: Timing belt question
Both bikes had belts changed this year. I usually get RS belts. Both whined. This can stop but in this instance they did not improve. I changed my Sport pulley from a C to a B, so both bikes are now the same. I have fitted a graded belt to one bike and the other has a belt from a local factors. The ...

I used BT45’s for years and only switched to Avons when I needed a rear urgently. I shall get BT46 next time.

Re: Oil filter conundrum !
I have taken to using neoodymium magnets on the drain plugs of my bikes. They are about 1cm thick and about 2cm in diameter, pulling a pair apart is a struggle. I hope they attract fine metal particles, if not manhole covers.
Has anyone using these filters got an update?

Re: Kokusan
I think the Kokusan system “ likes” the electric start. My kickstart is rather tall being on a Coguaro.

Re: Rotor refitting help
I made one out of some wood (about 12 x 2cm) drilled in the centre to allow a socket to pass, then suitable M8 bolts at the right point to fit. Cheap as chips. That taper must be sound as already said. Of utmost importance. By the way check your lower pulley has no movement. A friend’s did have. Doe...
