Hi Canuck, I hope that you do not mind my piggybacking onto your carb thread but I am hoping that someone may be able to help with my 500 carb/ignition. Currently my 500 seems to run OK but I feel that it is a bit slugginsh - struggles to reach 95mph and seems to me to me a bit slow off the mark, es...

Could the problem be the ignition system rather than carburation? Weak/incorrect sparking could cause similar symptoms - timing may be good but if the coils are not generating sufficient HT then ?????? Just a thought.

Well done Mickey, looks like you have been busy over the Covid shutdown period. Hope you sort out the oil leak - you haven't got the ghost of the Torrey Canyon stored in the garage by any chance? Might explain your finding that the oil level in the bike does not go down!!

Been having a look but deciding which one is a task in itself due to the huge numbers - I would like to get a good second hand one, either with integral reservoir or remote mounting, that has a restrained look i.e. not lots of coloured anodizing - black would be just right.
