Re: Inlet rubber manifolds

Yes the 500 an 501 manifolds are a bit diferent. On the carb side they should be the same. Or that´s what I guess, being the 26 and 28 PHBH. At least the diamenter of theses carbs to the filter is the same. But the studs in the heads where the manifold is mounted has a bigger diameter in the 501 tha...

The advantage of the Menanis is that they are a lot more solid than that fragil Tarozzi pedals

Re: Noisy clutch?

If the clutch works properly and you have problems to release the special nuts: leave it like it is!!! (until you realy have a problem with the clutch)
Aplying too much force on these nuts there is a certain risk of loosen the studs in the basket, and the you´ll have a problem indeed

Re: Hard to start

You should put that woodroof key, before doing anything else, because if the flywheel is not in the corect posicion you can not use the marks of PMS and ANT and will loose the valve and ignition timing.

Re: I need your help

To me that sounds a lot like air leaks concerning the rubber manifold head-carburator. Test it like Tom says with breake cleaner spray or something like this. When it is running at high revs at idle try to press the carbs towards the head or just moving their position a bit. When revs are changing, ...

Re: STAINLESS STEEL CENTRE STAND BOLT

My experience with the center stand bolt is, that the main problem used to be a corroded tube that should be free (and lubricated) inside the tube of the frame. The stand should not turn on the bolt itself that is fixed in the left part of the stand (and the frame?), but often it does because these ...

Re: Hard to start

Take the spark plugs out, conect a Multimeter to the green cable coming from the alterator (AC voltage to ground). Sit on the bike holding it firmly on the center stand, 2nd or 3rd gear. Now a friend that have have had a good breakfast schould turn the wheel in direction of running. You should measu...

Re: Rear Shock Absorber 350 / 500

In a 350 frame the back will rise and change a bit the geometria of the chasis.
I´ve mounted some 315 mm Konis instead of 300 Marzocchis and for me it´s ok with clipons and self-made rearsets.

Re: Tarozzi rearsets

This is one of these plates that is mounted with twoo srews (a little one on the axle of the swing arm)?
If so, try Dieter Hoffmann in Germany morinicorse1@aol.com

I don´t know if he has the parts apart, but some years ago he sold complete Tarozzi rearsets

The length of the 350 (300mm) is not the same as for the 500  You took it off a 350 or from a 500?

Re: carburation issues.

And have a look at the little mixture screws. Especially the fron one may have lost the peak. There schould be the srew with its peak, the spring, a little washer and at least a small O-ring. the washer is to protect the O-ring towards the spring.

Re: Measured brake force

Going down with the bore of the master cilinder changes everything! I´ve put a 13mm Grimeca pump (two discs) and it´s a two finger brake. I think 14 mm would be the way to go with two discs, 13 mm will do perfectly with one disc.

Re: Starting from cold

I need both chokes on for a cold start but I have to be ready to flip one choke off straight away or it will rev at 5,000rpm. On one choke it's revving at 2,000rpm. Engine needs choke on for about 3 miles to stop it stalling at junctions. One of my 501 needs the same procedure, both choke, one kick...
