Re: Flywheel wanted
There really is a lot of information there, thanks. And further evidence that the flywheel from the 500s (97 + 98) are heavier is reassuring. Still looking for one, and the bike is entered in the MCC's Exeter Trial in January when it'd nice to test the theory that the heavier flywheel would provide ...

Flywheel wanted
I'm looking for a 500 flywheel to put onto a Camel. We're trying to improve low speed engine tractability and need the heavier of the two variations (weighing around 2.5 kilos). The number stamped into the inside of the flywheel is 315797. PM me if you can help. Thanks.

Out and about
I heard a familiar sound in the street, stuck my head out of the window and saw this. Looks tidy. Well done on being out and about

Re: Green Lanes by Morini
That all sounds very satisfactory and I'm looking forward to joining you one day. Unfortunately my work skiving opportunities are limited at the moment, but hopefully I'll make it in July. And if the weather stays like this the clay might have dried out by then.

Re: New to me mk1 Camel in OZ.
Steve, In the past I've had 520 sprockets the Camel made up by B&C Express in ally. From memory, they delivered in a couple of weeks. I sent an original as a template. Using the thinner sprocket means that you can use a conventional M8 Allen bolt rather than the standard countersunk bolts which,...

Re: Green Lanes by Morini
Steve,
I'd love to join you, and I definitely approve of mid-week trail riding, but I can't make it next Wednesday. Have fun, and I'll try and make it another time.
H
ps. Camel #2 is now running and even has an Mot, but we're still ironing out the gremlins.

Re: Swingarm stickers
Tom,
I've got an original, unused sticker. The writing is black, but you could get it scanned if you want a perfect copy.
Drop me a PM with your address and I'll send it to you.

Re: Brake light switch
Ah, the Kangaroo wheel… I need to visit the lock-up and try and find it. It's easier to find time to buy stuff on eBay while sitting in the office than do anything practical. Bear with me.

Amazing what turns up… thanks to a lead provided by Ian, and the extraordinary reach of ebay, this has just arrived from Italy.

Re: Brake light switch
Ian, thanks for the part numbers. I just checked with Mdina and they don't have them, so I'm looking for an alternative source. They must fit something else too!

Brake light switch
I need a new rear brake light switch for a Mk1 Camel. It's an M8 x 1.25 fitting, with a slim body (13mm nut, 40mm overall length) and continuity when the plunger/button is released. It doesn't look like Mdina have them (though I haven't mailed them yet) and a quick google search hasn't shown up anyt...

Re: New to me mk1 Camel in OZ.
Hello Ross, If you are an originality fetishist then be aware that the colour of the suspension components didn't match the frame from new, though doubtless it has faded further since. The Marzocchi bits are more orange than the red on the frame. I painted my Marzocchi bits with RAL2002, though I do...

Re: And another Camel
Oh, and rear shocks are cheap Sebacs that came with the bike. I'm expecting them to disgorge all their damping oil as soon as they're asked to deal with anything substantial. The other bike has a pair of NBS shocks which are a bit soft, but work OK.
