Re: ignition keys
Thanks Graham - I'm in Australia so I'm going to try out the keys4classics place first, but it's always useful to have the info on the forum.

ignition keys
Does anyone know where it might be possible to get an ignition key for a '79 500 cut from the lock code. I've tried a couple of motorbike key specialist places that came up in a google search but neither could help. I can get hold of blanks but don't have anything to copy from atm. Maybe an Italian ...

Re: pickup voltage required
Hi, from the document 1.38v +/- 10% seems to be the magic number, which fits in very nicely with what I observed on the bench. Having seen the design and gained a bit of insight into how Ducati/Morini did things; a sort of elegant simplicity coupled with a 'good enough' attitude seem to be the desig...

Re: pickup voltage required
Yes, well I've got an original red pickup and a NLM pickup both of which seem to struggle. In fact the NLM one has never worked properly. So I'm 'substituting' them for a Sachse unit :) I'm curious to know what the actual figures should be though, i can trigger it no problem with a 1.5v battery but ...

pickup voltage required
Hi, Does anyone know the voltage required on the pickup lines to trigger a spark in the regular black 500 transducers. I've got a troublesome pickup that doesn't seem to be generating enough energy to consistently trigger a spark. I've tested the transducers are firing ok with an external signal. It...

Re: All sorts of bits
Hi Tom,
Do the master cylinder have a brake light switch on these units and what size cylinder is it? I'm after a replacement for an early 500.
Cheers,
Adrian

Did you find out what the problem was? I've got a similar issue myself after a re-build.

front wheel bearings
Hi,
The parts list for the 500 shows the two front wheel bearings as the same diameter but different widths. When I ordered a couple from NLM they were the same - Is it normal to replace the wider one with a bearing of the same width?
