Re: Early Strada top Yoke
Like a couple of others said, those top clamps are Paioli.

Re: Possibly 3500 mile from new Strada
The paint and stripes could possibly be original, but better pictures would help. I am fairly sure I have seen some of those front mudguards painted, on Morinis road-tested in US magazines from that period. The right engine cover, the clutch cover, the ignition pick-up cover and the rocker covers mu...

Re: 1975 Morini Sport Specs
That's the brochure. Note red hand grips. (I don't know if they did a brochure with the 'correct' 76 Sport.)

Re: 1975 Morini Sport Specs
There is a Moto Morini sales brochure that shows such a bike. It has a front disc brake but has the same shape tank, side covers and seat as the drum brake Sport. The tank is red with black panels on the lower sides. These panels mimic the black panels on the angular-shaped tanks of the 1976 Sport (...

Re: Marzocchi rear shock servicing
I have never had a spring compressor, unfortunately. I have used a couple of old car tyre levers placed through the spring near the top, and another pair of hands to hold the levers and compress the spring while I remove the retainers at the top. (If you do this you might want to use something to pr...

Re: Strada in Grey?
Perhaps the original tank/side panels colour was silver? Any trace of an old colour under the tank or behind the side panels? The tank and side panels probably had black pin stripes.
A green seat wouldn't be original.

Re: wanted 500 airbox
Many years ago I managed to damage the airbox on my road 500. I bought a new one from Herdan in the US but like I said that was a long time ago.

Re: Marzocchi rear shock servicing
See my reply in the 500 part of this forum but ..... the early 350 shocks (roughly 1974/75 to 1977??? give or take a year) had quite a slim nut which was easy to damage; I went to the trouble of getting someone to make a spanner/tool specifically for this nut. I wanted a spanner/tool that would not ...

Re: Marzocchi rear shock servicing
Years ago I rebuilt the shocks on my 1980 500. It wasn't too difficult. There was no need to worry about butchering the top alloy nut (with inbuilt seal, I think) on removal because the rebuild kit came with a new nut. (Early 350 shock rebuild kits did not include a new nut.) I remember when I remov...

Re: Help on an early Sport
Isn't there room on this forum for those who ride their bikes hard and don't give a stuff about how original their bikes are - and those who want their bikes, for whatever reason, to be as original as possible? On my first trip to Italy in 1986 I went to a re-running of a post-war hill climb event. ...

Re: Help on an early Sport
I don't know if it's possible to match the introduction of the Sport badge with engine or frame numbers. However, I feel pretty certain in saying that a 74 Sport would not have had the Sport badge. The badge seems to be associated with the introduction of the 1976 disc-brake Sport. Bezels: do you me...

Probably not much help, but look at the 500SEI-V AS and AT brochures.

Re: Early sport
That is a great pic of the two Sports and there is some interesting stuff on that archive. I 'liked' the pic of a rider in full gear on a blue 350 with a woman on the back in jeans and shirt - no protective gear at all (Motociclismo 1974). I haven't seen the archive before.

Enter 'frame numbers' into the 'search' facility in the top right corner to get more info on numbers.

Re: Early sport
Does your bike have polished alloy fork clamps or black-painted ones? The first drum-brake Sports had the polished alloy.
