Re: 500 parts list

If anyone has a pdf or similar of the six speed supplement I’d be interested in getting a copy and will also send to the club librarian. If simon wants to let me borrow his I’ll happily scan it

Re: 500 parts list

Thanks to Stempy and 3pot for coming up with pdf of the 500 parts list. I’ve offered it to the club librarian for everyone’s benefit HOWEVER it is for the 500W (the 5 speed). Does anyone know whether there was a separate parts manual for the Sei (six speed) and/or have one?
The quest is on!

500 parts list

I keep getting eBay reminders that a 500 parts manual is being listed at an eye watering €66 (plus €24 postage!) Does anyone in the club have one to sell at a price that doesn’t involve me getting a second mortgage? Alternatively if someone is willing to lend me one I’m happy to copy it for the club...

valve timing or what?

So I've finally resumed work on the 500 Sei after far too long a time having to do other things. Ive done work on the top end and the engine is back in the frame. The bike has never been running while Ive had it and I'm about to do a belt change. In getting the marks lined up as per the blue book (w...

Re: Castrol CM

thanks George -in the end decided to use a thin smear of graphite grease - seems to withstand temperature and pressure and doesn't eat nylon as far as I'm aware

Castrol CM

The blue book says apply castrol cm grease to the plastic washer behind the clutch basket - I can’t find it or an equivalent. Can anyone suggest an alternative?

Re: Very original 1976 Strada (Drum Brake)

saw this little gem a couple of weeks ago - a very nice original bike I must say. Ian very kindly let me take it out for a spin and it went like a train. I couldn't stop smiling :D

Re: Clutch question

I had this problem and in another post someone suggested freeze and release spray. I tried it as I didn’t want to risk destruction. I was dubious but amazingly it freed all of the clutch nuts. I would recommend giving it a go
