Re: Electrpnic tachos again
My ’76 Strada had electronic tacho and one of those ”widgets”. They were not a complicated circuit and I know that there is a description circuit diagram and pcb design floating about somewhere on the net. A relativlt confident DIYer should be able to build one.

Re: Exeter trial
Very entertaining mixture of bikes, I absolutely loved the Step-Throughs! I found the Flag waving Marshall hard to follow, some were stopped, some weren't , some appeared to ignore it, and some just fell off...

Re: Lithium Battery in 3 1/2
I have always found Motobatt batteries to be good value - from a 125 scooter to an 850 BMW oilhead, with a K2 Sport as well. Never considered a Lithium on an older bike, though I have an electric bicycle with an 8 year old battery and 16000 km on it (not many of those km down to me!).

Re: 3½ headset cups and cones
An old trick is to turn the cup and cone through 180 degrees (front to back). This can bring the less worn area to the more heavily loaded part.

Re: 501 main jet
I was under the impression that the V model Morinis had their power units designed by an engineer who knew his stuff. One of the reasons why changing any one part (airbox, carb or exhaust) often does not benefit the whole package. Of course, this was dating back to times with different regulations, ...

Re: November Green Lanes
As far as I recall they were X2s, and I think I changed any 6v lamps to 12v, the stator can cope with the change ’as is’.

Re: November Green Lanes
On previous Kanguros I had the pleasure to own I used a Boyer Power Box instdead of a Ducatimeccanica regulator. Worked a treat. And no battery needed!

Re: Speedo kph to mph converter
Thinking about it, all the Morinis I owned were doing 10mph with the engine stopped and the speedos were all vague liars, so accurate markings really need to be taken by GPS.

I used a self adhesive dot at appropriate points until my brain made the kmh / mph transition automatically.

Re: Morini Newby charging question
Hello. I think you will find a circuit for the regulator in the library, or the Dutch sigte archive, or Paul Compton’s site. I have used a modern reg on a couple of Morinis, Very simple to install, just isolate the red lead from the stator. They were ’Powerbox’ from a well known company whose name e...

Re: Wanted: journeys on a moto morini
A well set up Kanguro was my favourite model. Will roll all day on ”ordinary” roads at a good lick in comfort, and good on rough trails too. I used mine in preference to others for commuting, Dragon Rallies and a lot of back routes and agricultural tracks around here. I would have liked to do the St...

Re: Measuring the Engine Oil Pressure
Is there room for an electronic sensor à la Druck, Burkert, etc? You’d need a suitable meter of course. Edit: I was thinking of something like this, cheap enough for a punt, though the actual connector may be the tightest fit if you have limited room. Screenshot 2024-09-02 at 08-54-41 Transducteur d...
