Re: Sprockets wanted

Supersprox I think was Rodger Maughfling who was based on a redundent railway station on the Mid Wales Railway line next to a castlelated viaduct just down from Knighton and found it it cheaper to buy crap from the Communist Czech Rdepublic, a true blue patriot and sacked his gear cutter in the proc...

Re: Three years later, still having problems with idle

A bit of useless information for you. WD40 was developed by an Australian company trying to produce a liquid product that would displace water and leave a film on the surfaces that would deter further deposits of water/condensation. They kept failing with all the combinations and amounts of various ...

Re: Three years later, still having problems with idle

Inspect the suction side of the carburettor slides. They should be flat but owing to the crap material they are made from, wear and you can see the inprint of the choke. If this is really bad then the slide does not seal against the body of the carb, so you get a varying vacuum and hence varying eng...

Re: Swing arm spindle

PS. Make sure the plastic you use is a hard one and not hygroscopic like the nylons which, and I know you don't see much water, swell and then deform so that when it dries out again tends to stay partly in the distorted state, ok for over here I suppose.

Re: Swing arm spindle

I thought I had explained how to recover the spindels and make plastic bushes before. Again, turn the spindel only to remove ovality usually to about 1.5mm. Make the bushes to be a tight fit in the trunnions and the bore a transition fit on the spindel, the bushes canbe longer than the trunion so yo...

Re: MORE 500 Engine parts wanted

All the drive train including clutch parts are interchangeable. The gears are different but as long as you change as a pair they will also fit but with a different reduction ratio. The difference with the gearbox input shaft is only for a shoulder on the 500 to be increased in diameter to 22mm hence...

Re: 500W REARSETS WANTED

I have sent you a personal message as I cannot get any photos to load they maybe of some help to you regarding the weird gear change that you have. The 500 5 speed and the 500 6speed frames are the same and had the gear change on the correct side. The 350 K2 had semi rear sets and unfortunately the ...

Re: R/H side cover needed

Regards to your woes with the electric start, I have no idea where the cush drive mechanism is, the only cush drive is in the back sprocket. I have the carriage for the gear and pins and a set of shoes with springs and a chain and the 'splash proof partition' and a cam I think from a 5speed 500, the...

Re: Main bearing moved in the casing - HELP!

When you 'pressed' the outer race into the crankcase did you warm the crank case up first? If the 'other half' isn't looking it is usaual to stick it in the oven for hallf an hour at about 150c which is enough for the bearing to drop in.If you press bearings in a cold crankcase you can lose the inte...
